I am thinking of changing cell phone plans, and have been looking at Pure Talk.
I make very few calls on my cell phone, and maybe a couple of texts a week, both usually from home. I need to have some data, in case I’m out and need to call someone, or a cab, road service, find a map, etc. – but I have almost never used that. I do NO business on the cell phone, and most of our telephone use is VOIP from home.
Frankly, the main thing I use a cell phone for is listening to the radio at home, over the Wifi; and having it for emergencies when I'm away. My husband’s needs are a little greater, but not much greater.
Does anyone here have Pure Talk, and have you been happy with it? We’re also interested to know if the monthly data allowance can be rolled over if you don’t use it, which has always been the case with our TracFone plans.
Thanks for any advice.

A couple of things about Tello. The service is very customizable selecting number of minutes and gb data as you’d like which can be changed at any time. I’m not a heavy cell phone user so I have 1gb and 100 minutes.
The service will renew automatically every 30 days resetting to these limits. However, if you renew manually (by text message) before the automatic renewal they will roll over any remaining data and minutes.
So while I have a 1gb/100 min plan, I currently have over 4gb and 350 minutes available.
Thank You for this thread …..Bmk.
They also have a Super Mini phone.
We have lousy Verizon service (signal strength) in our area. And it’s the best available at our location, partially due to some grain silos that went up and block the nearest tower.
Last fall I did some investigating of setups where one basically gets a hotspot that works back through our (fiber optic) internet service, but, the equipment was pretty pricey.

I love love love my Motorola “Moto G Stylus 5G 2024” phone, and also my 2022 version before that which my husband uses now.
I think mine cost around $350 when I had it activated for Verizon at Walmart. But Best Buy sells them for $250 if you’re not activating and just want to get one for later.
My nephew is in IT for a very large tech companies, and he got one for about $150 through Amazon. He loves his, too.
My second favorite device was a Motorola V60S flip phone. (Favorite was BlackBerry Classic.)
I use only a little, unless traveling.
That is the price per person on my family plan. One person nearly always goes beyond 100 GB up to 120 GB, sometimes.
You’re referring to a network extender. Last house we had lousy cell service but internet. Told Verizon T-Mobile would give us an extender if we switched & Verizon sent us one. Only need it if your phone isn’t WiFi compatible.
US Mobile - top shelf.
I used TracFone for many years, but last summer the phone I purchased through Tracfone only a few months before died. My experience getting a replacement phone was a nightmare. They wanted me to send my old phone back and then after looking at it they would send me a replacement. That process would have taken close to two weeks leaving me with no operating phone. Customer service was based in India making it difficult to communicate with the agents. In frustration I looked at other carriers and settled on Consumer Cellular. Their customer service was US based and very helpful making the switch. I also purchased my phone through Consumer Cellular and had more options and a replacement plan not available from TracFone. So far I have been very happy with my new carrier.
Thanks.
I’m sorry your experience was poor. We have never had that problem, and our one experience with getting a new phone was seamless. Our current phones are Androids that we got from TracFone almost 8 years ago, and they’ve always worked well. Very recently they sometimes don’t hold a charge as well as they used to, but altogether it’s been a good experience.
