If no one knows what it means/says, how would we know if someone solved it?
I bet AI could solve it!..............
I guess you’d go about it in a similar way that a cryptanalyst works to break a code - you look for order, pattern, etc.; and that is probably enhanced by the context of archaeological finds relating to the particular culture.
It seems they would use computers and algorithms for a lot of this now.
