The 19th century Ingalls family is getting a 21st century TV life.
Netflix has ordered a Little House on the Prairie series, 40-plus years after a long-running adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved books aired its last episode on NBC. The new version comes from showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys, The Vampire Diaries).
“Little House on the Prairie has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many fans around the world, and we’re excited to share its enduring themes of hope and optimism with a fresh take on this iconic story,” said Jinny Howe, vp drama series for Netflix. “Rebecca’s vision threads the needle with an emotional depth that will delight both new and existing fans of this beloved classic.”

That’s just what America needs. A dark, drunken, rapey, abusive version of Little House on the Prairie.
Laura and Nellie will explore their sexuality in a lesbian relationship.
Reverend Alden will be portrayed as a lecher/pedophile/hypocrite.
Doc Baker will be a closeted homosexual.
A freed slave family will move into Walnut Grove and every White male in town will be part of a lynch mob except for Pa Ingalls.
Mr. Olson will beat Harriet and Nellie and be the greediest shopkeeper ever.
Ma will be a proto-feminist.
I’m going to get this one to read. Thanks!
That’s deranged. She didn’t put it in her book for a reason. That should be respected, and there is more than enough murder porn out there.
We don’t need yet another revisionist western where everyone dresses like a stumblebum, emits a stream of filthy language, the women act like modern feminist college girls, and every man is an overall reprobate.
Maybe we need an updated Huckleberry Finn that shows slaves being raped and beaten and Huck laughing at it before he knew Jim the runaway slave.
My brothers didn’t either, but my little sister and I loved it.
Yes, it basically was a chick-flick series.................
OH, a remake (YUK).
I would watch the original and go back in time . . . .
Maybe not so far from the truth.
I was a tomboy, so Laura appealed to me for a while.
The punchline was a killer!

OK, very good.
I’ll remember that to recall at the proper time - THX.
I read the books about her daughter.
The girl was a real brat.
And I don’t have such high hopes for their reboot of “The Chronicles Of Narnia”.
This is Netflix not Disney. The difference: Disney executives are hiding under the bed, while Netflix’s are inside the closet...
Oy. I can imagine
Night agent is now a popular show. I gave in. The kids all like it. It is so hard to not say anything. It is so stoopid. The writing is so awful. The premises the behavior. They think fiction means people would never do this in real life so watch this and pretend people in these situations would do this but the would never do these things
What a waste of time and attention
The tv show didn’t really follow the books a lot. There was a little similarity.
Lord just no...
Their destruction of Anne of Green Gables wasn’t enough?
The original TV series didn’t stay faithful not the books hardly at all.
They could have and made a great TV series out of it as there’s plenty in the books that would make great plot lines.
I agree.
