I love the way climate scientists measure the sea level. They have a satellite that measures a small strip of ocean at any given time. On each measurement, it has an accuracy of +/- 3 cm. On a surface that is in constant motion, moving often by meters.
But with the magic of averaging, they can boldly claim the sea level is rising 3-4 mm per year, AND this is the fastest pace of increase ever.

Lots of ways to average...I learned you throw out the highest and the lowest and anything "out of whack" in between.
Of course, spread out over 60 million years with so many unknowns makes it only a wild guess...the stats mean nothing.
It's all about "What Is Is" .

All you have to do is look at photos of the island taken in the late 1800s and compare them to today to see that there has been either zero sea level rise in that time, or a rise so negligible that it’s not visible. The water level then vs. now looks visually identical.
