US President Donald Trump has paused grants, loans and other federal assistance, according to a leaked government memo verified by the BBC's US partner, CBS News.
In the memo, the acting head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) calls on government agencies to ensure spending is consistent with Trump's priorities.
The full impact of the pause is not yet clear, although the memo specifies that Medicare and Social Security benefits are not affected. It comes days after the US halted nearly all foreign aid.
The move has been criticised by members of the rival Democratic Party who warn of "devastating consequences" on programmes that people rely on.

Before Comrade Joe Biden and his merry band of unconstitutional communists left office they raided the Treasury so that his Treasury secretary announced ‘extreme measures’.
Democratic blocked increasing the debt limit for Trump. Therefore, he has to halt spending to make the nation solvent from the Democratic party spending spree. Democrats DID THIS, not TRUMP.
Trump has to stop spending, raise government revenue quickly (ie Tariffs). It’s simple, they need to blame themselves.

Yep, everybody loves free stuff...except the taxpayers who fund this folly. Seems to me that people who constantly bite the hand that feeds them deserve to feel a bit hungry.

Money is fungible.
NYS taxpayers are paying for a hefty chunk of the Bills new stadium.
Federal loans/grants to Albany are likely making it possible for NYS to do the Bills and NFL a favor that while continuing to shell out for other giveaways.
This is a smart move by President Trump. These funds go into corrupt community activist and organizations in the inner city.
They all need to be reviewed on who is receiving and how it is being allocated. It would be wise to find others to administer these funds starting from scratch on who receives them and distributes.
Current inner city people and organizations are the ones that corrupt the political environment. It will also help cut the funding off of organizations that aid in illegal voting.
