That seems only fair. Somebody with an "X" passport was following the law as it was at the time, so they don't deserve to have their passport invalidated immediately. Who knows, they may be currently traveling, etc.

OTOH, renewal time will bring a reckoning with reality.

It wasn't a law, that's the problem. The "X" passport was a previous executive order.

How about giving people with the X passport 60 days or so to get new passports. Bring the reckoning that much closer.
