ALLAHASSEE, Fla. โ Florida spent Tuesday preparing for its most significant bout of winter weather since 1989, with airports closing and officials calling for residents in the western Panhandle to stay off the roads.
On Tuesday evening, widespread reports of 5-12 inches of snow were reported around Pensacola, causing troopers to shut down a nearly 70-mile stretch of Interstate 10. National Weather Service offices along the corridor issued a rare Winter Storm Warning for counties from Pensacola to Jacksonville, warning of snow and ice accumulations that could make travel hazardous.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a state of emergency on Monday ahead of the wintry mess and said that for communities in the Panhandle, the wintry mess could be record-breaking. The Sunshine State's all-time greatest snowfall was 4 inches in Milton, outside of Pensacola, on March 6, 1954, which was eclipsed on Tuesday by the measurements around Pensacola.

My brother got over 6โ in Gulf Shores, AL
President Trump solved global warming on day one! He might have gone a bit too far, though....
The orange harvest will be normal. Sell all FCOJ contracts.
Thanks to that scam, the first new "Muscle Car" I owned (1973 Mustang Mach 1, 351 Cleveland) had about 170 horsepower. What a joke. The car and the panic. And every fool that bought into it (the scam).

No need to visit Alaska. Alaska visits you!
I saw a study that said that in order for the cold to kill the bugs it would have to be below freezing for over a month straight. :-\
Unlikely. As far as I know the pythons are confined to the southern part of Florida and the cold temperatures didn’t reach that far south.
I grew up in Orchard Park, NY south of Buffalo. I was there for the Blizzard of 1977. Three feet of snow 75 mph winds. When I moved to NH in 1985 all I heard about was the Blizzard of 78 in Boston. Where thousands of cars were abandoned on rt 128.
I also recall the Time magazine cover questioning whether we were going into another ice age from sometime around then.
As far as muscle cars of the 1960s and 70s they ALL pale to the HP that a modern naturally aspirated V6 engine puts out today. Even the 6.2 liter Smoky & Bandit Trans AMs. Put a couple turbo chargers on that same V6 engine today and they are over 400 HP.
I had a 1999 Lexus SC400. It had a 4 liter naturally aspirated V8. It had 298 HP. Today they get higher horsepower out of a 3.5 liter V6.
Toyota replaced the V6 4 liter engine on the Tacoma with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder turbo. The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine will produce 265 horsepower, which is 30 horsepower more than the previous 3.5-liter V6 engine
Hey “neighbor”, I’ve only been here for a couple years, so I had to find 2297 on a map. Didn’t realize I drive by it 2-3 times a week on my way into town. I actually drove down it last year just to see what’s there.
