Bitter Kamala refuses to give J.D. Vance and his young family a tour of the vice presidential residence

It looks like Kamala Harris's classy streak is over.

For awhile there, we thought something had changed in her when she graciously certified the 2024 election in the Senate and put on a decent appearance at Jimmy Carter's funeral. It seemed like a politically smart way of distinguishing herself from bitter Joe Biden and preserving her political viability.

But now the old Kamala is back, classless as ever, refusing to give the incoming vice president, J.D. Vance and his young family, a courtesy tour of the Naval Observatory, which serves as the vice presidential residence. She even could have proudly shown him all the renovations she had done.

But according to CBS News:

"When JD Vance, his wife Usha and their three young children move into the Naval Observatory residence on Jan. 20, it will be their first time inside the white Queen Anne-style mansion that has been home to vice presidents since the 1970s.

Vice President Kamala Harris has not extended an invitation for a formal sit-down or tour, multiple Democratic and Republican sources told CBS News.

In November, Usha Vance, via intermediaries, reached out to staff for the home's current occupants, Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, seeking details including what they would need to childproof it. Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel Vance are all under the age of eight.

The questions were initially rebuffed by a Harris political appointee."

Recall that then-Vice President Mike Pence offered such a tour for her back in 2020 to much fanfare in the press. Pence was praised widely for it.

But she wasn't about to return the favor. So much for a smooth transition, even if for nothing more than to stand in contrast to the disgusting Biden who's doing all he can to ensure there is no transition at all.

“Turn them both into museums and to be used only for state dinners etc and let the president and VP live somewhere decent.”

Until the 1974, One Observatory Circle, was the government residence provided for the Chief of Naval Operations who serves as the senior admiral and military leader of the United State Navy. Until it was repurposed as the VP residence by act of Congress, Vice Presidents arranged for their own housing in the District of Columbia, while in office.

Gerald Ford succeed Richard Nixon as President in 1974 before he could become the first VP to reside in the home. Nelson Rockefeller was appointed VP in December 1974, but did not reside there during his term which ended in January 1977. He already owned a secure home in D.C. He chose to use the newly designated VP official residence primarily for official entertainment. Vice President Walter Mondale was the first Vice President to move into One Observatory Circle as a resident in 1977. All subsequent Vice Presidents have used the home as a residence.

One Observatory Circle has been renovated several times since it became the official VP residence — 1976, 1981, 1989, 1993, 2021

The Vice President’s traditional residence was never her home. It doesn’t belong to those who live there. If she didn’t want to participate, she could’ve designated someone to do the tour for her while she and her husband house-hunt in NYC. The staff probably are providing information about child-proofing and such, so Harris isn’t really necessary anyway. What does she know about child-proofing a home? Her stepchildren weren’t children when she married her husband.

Like any accomplished addict, she will never remember all the places she stashed her supply (alcohol, legal/illegal/Hunter B medications)

A pack of drug sniffing canines will be necessary to ferret out all the ingenious hidey holes.

I would not put it passed any democRAT to hide the stashes within coffee grounds, trying to disguise the scent. Then, in the month or two, they can accuse the Vance family of drug abuse and reveal the location of the drugs.

I can just hear the Drive-By Media “when did you start using, Mr Vice President?”

Kamala the person of low character.

“A crisis does not create character, it reveals it.”

I hope they decontaminate the toilet seats with black light. VD germs are a real hazard. Maybe it would be better to replace all of the seats and not risk infections.

Just an opportunity for a good person to perform a deed of lovingkindness. Which lets Kamala out.

The Jewish mitzvah of making people feel welcome is called hachnasat orchim. It is a value that involves inviting people into your home and making them feel comfortable and honored.
Found in Genesis 18 (which is also part of the Christian Holy Bible, of course).

compared to a nice modern home, the white house is a dilapidated dump in my opinion.

Advances smart you’d have the place swept for listening devices.

Not to worry about the tour. There is probably an usher assigned.

I’ve built brand new homes, and have lived in a 200-year-old home. I LOVE old houses, and would take one over a new one any day.

Good sportsmanship and gracious losing is overrated.

Winning is sweeter when the loser is sore and angry.

After the coup in 2020, this WIN could not have tasted sweeter.

Vance’s wife is Indian. Maybe a perceived caste thing.

I would get a handful of Priests with several gallons of holy water and blessed salt to exorcise the place. Then send in exterminators, janitors, painters and plumbers to fumigate, clean, flush and paint the place.
