The world must return to a policy of "maximum pressure" against Iran to turn it into a more democratic country, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's incoming Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg told an Iranian opposition event in Paris on Saturday.
Trump has vowed to return to the policy he pursued in his previous term that sought to wreck Iran's economy to force the country to negotiate a deal on its nuclear programme, ballistic missile programme and regional activities.
"These pressures are not just kinetic, just not military force, but they must be economic and diplomatic as well", Retired Lieutenant-General Kellogg, who is set to serve as Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, told the audience at Paris-based Iranian opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
He said there was an opportunity "to change Iran for the better" but that this opportunity would not last forever.
"We must exploit the weakness we now see. The hope is there, so must too be the action."

Kellogg postponed a trip to European capitals earlier this month until after Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20.
It was unclear whether he would use his trip top Paris to meet French officials to discuss Ukraine. The French presidency, foreign ministry, Trump's transition team did not immediately respond for comment.

Why do you make these extraneous posts about who knows what, and to me?
Being chatty for the sake of being chatty is a waste of time.
LOL.
The cheapest eggs I bought at Kroger was $3.99 a Dozen.
Trumpman? Super hero time?
Citing a military man's resume and/or fame is always a two-edged sword. But since you asked:
One picks a resume and cheers or boos based on a political slant, of which there are MORE than two. One could consider Lt. Gen Flynn who was crushed by the whole Trump impeachment event, or one of those above who was hailed for a while by some as the whistle-blower against President Trump."Ensconced in the secure hearing rooms of the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill in a midnight-blue dress uniform, a bevy of ribbons pinned to his chest, Colonel Vindman testified privately from morning until night. He recounted for House investigators how he was so alarmed by the president's request to enlist Ukraine to smear his political rivals, and similar efforts by Mr. Trump's allies, that he reported them to his superiors — twice." "During his time in uniform, Vindman has earned the Ranger Tab, which signifies the completion of one of the toughest schools in the Army, as well as the Parachutist Badge, earned after the completion of Army Airborne School, and the Expert Infantryman Badge, which denotes mastery of critical infantry tasks. In September 2004, he deployed to Iraq and was wounded in combat just a month later by an improvised explosive device, per Army Times. He finished the deployment and returned to the United States in September 2005. Vindman also earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, which is awarded to infantry soldiers who have fought in active ground combat. An Army spokesman said that he previously served on the Pentagon's Joint Staff from September 2015 to July 2018. Vindman is currently assigned to the National Security Council as a foreign area officer who specializes in Eurasian political-military operations, according to The New York Times." More...

In a similar manner, another on this thread often cited Gen. Hodges as an authority while lambasted LTC McGregor as no authority. And so on.
President Trump, being inaugurated soon, is under great pressure to fill his cabinet and announce advisors. Gen. Kellogg would have done well -- as the point man for the Ukraine negotiations for an incoming administration -- to have kept his rhetorical "powder dry," rather than promoting other views. But then Petraeus, Hodges and a whole bunch of other generals have been very prominent in knowing all the answers to the world's geopolitical challenges.
Probably even retired general Ansel12.
I've found people who feel the need to tell others about their religiosity to be the absolute worst among us. You fit that bill.
Yep!
You-know-who, must have one heck of a hang over this morning. I hear “special” hot chocolate can do that.
Weird.
Your wrong, Trump had McCain pegged correctly. Those who push the concept of perpetual war, aren’t heroes.
That made zero sense to post 97, and Trump and his man are not pushing perpetual war as you keep trying to claim.
The only good thing about the Vindman twins, is they aren’t triplets.
What's weird is that US News and World Report article states: "He [ Kellogg ] postponed a trip to European capitals earlier this month until after Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20."
And yet, there he is in Paris.
"US President-elect Donald Trump's incoming Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg is in Paris, attending an event at Paris-based Iranian opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), according to TV footage carried by the group."

So Kellogg "postponed" until 20 January, AND Kellogg spoke in Paris on the 11th.
Sounds like he isn't exactly restraining himself, after being asked to be point man on Ukraine. I wager this is going to be awkward for President Trump, as the days pass. Hire a diplomat for the Ukraine issue to begin work after 20 January and then he's in the thick of things nine days early and on another subject outside his officially announced capacity. Odd. Or as someone says, "weird."
And yet one of these DEMOCRATS is now a Congresscritter! The next impeachment attempts are being planned now, I am sure.
Recalling what the Democrats did to General Flynn, one should be circumspect until after 20 January.
At some point I may start paying attention to the guy, perhaps you should start a thread on him and his long term relationship with Trump and what it all means about Trump.

It was posted by her to show the high tolerance level her denomination, the UMC.
It actually shows the degradation of this denomination stemming from it no longer looking up to God or depending on his providence as David instructed us in Psalm 127.
Don’t push your luck, troll!
"Vindman, despite being a political newcomer, developed a national profile after blowing the whistle alongside his brother during then-President Donald Trump’s first impeachment. Vindman and his twin brother, Alex, were career military officers who raised their concerns about Trump’s 2019 call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in which Trump sought an investigation of President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
"Vindman, a former Army officer, focused his campaign on abortion rights and the threat of MAGA extremism on democracy. Anderson, a fellow veteran and former Green Beret, pitched himself as the more affable candidate, and centered his campaign on the economy."
Another Soros funded democrat/globalist tool.
LOL, a post from a party primary a decade ago.
At some point, things will be obvious. One finds:
"In a bold move, Keith Kellogg, an incoming aide to President Donald Trump, has revealed an ambitious plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war within 100 days of Trump's inauguration. Kellogg emphasized Trump's goal of restarting direct negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky." more....So, about three months from inaguration day is about 20 April 2025.Trump’s Aide Kellogg Reveals Plan to End Ukraine War in 100 Days| Will Putin and Zelensky Agree?
"U.S. President-elect Donald Trump aims to end Russia's war against Ukraine within 100 days of his inauguration, Keith Kellogg, Trump's choice for special Ukraine peace envoy, told Fox News on Jan. 8. The comments come a day after Trump said in a press conference that he would not launch peace talks until after his inauguration. Trump, who takes office on Jan. 20, pledged repeatedly during his campaign to negotiate an end to the war as soon as he was elected."
Trump wants to end war in 100 days, incoming peace envoy tells Fox News Kyiv Independent, via Yahoo, 8 January 2025.
Given we amass about another trillion dollars of national debt every three months, there are more pressures than just a Eurasian war, a Middle East war, a Taiwan conflict, and beyond. Like more than 37 trillion USD in debt.
What will the front line look like in Ukraine after another three months? We all have to wait and see.
But new developments:
"Laura Cooper, a senior official at the US Department of Defense responsible for military aid to Ukraine, has resigned , Politico reports, citing department officials. It is noted that she left in early 2025 after working at the Pentagon for more than 20 years. The reason for her departure is not given, but the publication suggests that given the “uncertainty of policy towards Ukraine, the Pentagon could be an uncomfortable place for her under the new president.”Times, they are a 'changin'.
