Adam Carolla applied to be a firefighter in Los Angeles and was told to wait seven years because he was White. He got a job picking up garbage at construction sites and seven years later he was told to report for an interview with LAFD. Once in line he turned to a black lady behind him and said it took them 7 years to respond and he asked her when she applied—- she replied, “Wednesday.”

DEI till it hurts
Black Women May have had the DEI golden ticket but black men, college graduates are still low man on the employment ladder.Merit will be the only sure cure.
Liberals: “Racism is bad!”
News item: White people are being discriminated against.
Liberals: “Racism is good!”
🙁
His books are very funny. Give them a read.
yeah I don’t know if I’d suggest college to everyone. My friends who stayed in college aren’t doing so well. I work a trade job out in the sun in Florida which is not ideal but at least I’m doing well. I don’t go to school reunions because I don’t want people to tell me they’re in their climate-controlled offices on the phone.

“When the latest fires erupted, the city had nearly 100 fire trucks and ambulances out of service because it doesn’t have enough mechanics to fix them”—WPOST quoting LA county councilwoman....

UNSTATED in the above: Not enough mechanics because of the DEI requirements and the administrators making $400,000 (fire chief makes $650,000) suck up the budget.
Then the Mayor cut the budget by $17 million.

I suggest college to anyone who wants to enroll to learn a skill, a marketable skill. Something like engineering, medicine, computer science.
But if the goal is a degree in English Literature, better take some time to rethink that position before shelling out all that tuition money.
Bttt
in another article, Adam said—“This is why Californians pay the highest taxes: So that their government can completely fail them in their time of need.”
yes, regarding a college degree I would also factor in AI: so far robots can’t do a lot of things but give it a few years.
I was at Front Sight training in the Nevada desert back in 2000.
A DEI prison guard showed up and before she could shoot herself in the foot, they suggested she go get more range time back in her home town.
Dang that woman was dangerous.
When I was in high school in ROTC we spent a week at Camp Pendleton in San Diego with the marines and we got to shoot automatic rifles. I was waiting in line when a tiny hispanic girl pulled the trigger and the power of the weapon frightened her and the recoil caused her to move back. She laughed and turned around and said something to her friends in spanish and as she did, she aimed the weapon at me unknowingly. A marine grabbed the weapon and aimed it away and took it off of automatic. They stopped doing that particular training after that.
I can see California as being a nice place to visit for a short time. But living there is like living in New York, you cannot wait to move to another state.
I remember when I lived there, every time you came to an intersection, you would have to wait for the tiny mexican lady to cross with 4-5 kids in tow. Sometimes the tiny young kids would be pushing the strollers with the tinier younger kids.
If he had the important female genitalia for firefighting, he'd have been called immediately.
yeah and if LBTGq+@ he’d be fire chief the next day
California is third world.
You have nothing to be ashamed of. There’s great honor in the trades. The idiots are the arrogant office drones who look down on you until they need to call you for help screwing in a light bulb cause they can’t handle it. Charge accordingly.
My brother-in-law is like that. He looks his nose down at my kids because they chose careers they wanted, not what he said they should do. One has no degree and is a book editor. Know what she’d be doing if she had a degree? She’d be a book editor.
I’ve known a few people who have had great office jobs and have been laid off. People I originally envied.
