Mayor Karen Bass stands in a stunned silence for nearly 2 minutes as a reporter asks her if she regrets cutting Los Angeles' Fire Department budget by nearly $20 million and being absent as her citizens' homes burned down.
“Or ashamed.”

If the reporter had asked Bass a question about abortion, she would have piped up and bragged about how LA is protecting women’s “reproductive rights.” That’s really one of the few things these leftwing idiots care about.
Her arrogance is atrocious.
The entire government is liable for this mess and should be sued accordingly from the council and mayor on up to Gavin Gruesome himself.

Bass is a DEI trifecta who almost became Vice President in 2020. She is progressive royalty. I expect legacy media criticism of her even in the wake of the fires to remain muted.
Maybe, just maybe, the two minutes of stunned silence means she has something resembling a soul left, and that she has genuine regret, even if she cannot bring herself to admit she was wrong. We know that even an Obama or a younger Biden would just put out some garbage and expect us to take it without missing a beat.
Disturbing video. Hiring an incompetent person for an executive position has consequences. Her reaction to the questions were that of a dullard. It was if Mayor DEI was asked to solve a complex mathematical formula. The appropriate response would have been a brief summary of her intended next steps as part of a larger action plan. Her role was to lead. To assemble a team of smart, wise, and effective staff; form strategies and actions; and execute. No one is asking her to drive a fire truck. They are asking this idiot to lead.
Hope she enjoyed going to Ghana at the taxpayers expense. What possible ROI from that trip could be realized should be looked at closely.
