PACIFIC PALISADES —The devastating Palisades Fire destroyed historic buildings and multiple structures at two California State Parks last night, including Will Rogers’ historic ranch house and buildings at Will Rogers State Historic Park (SHP). The fire fueled by wind gusts up to 80 mph also destroyed parts of Topanga State Park (SP), including the historic Topanga Ranch Motel once owned by William Randolph Hearst.

“California State Parks mourns the loss of these treasured natural and cultural resources, and our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the devastating fires in the Los Angeles area,” said State Parks Director Armando Quintero. “Since yesterday afternoon, we are directing all available resources into the emergency response effort and working to secure and protect as much as we can at affected nearby state parks. We are deeply grateful to our parks staff and all partner agencies for their swift actions. Our top priority remains the safety of the public, our employees and the responders bravely battling the fires.”

Shortly after the Palisades Fire began around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 7, State Parks closed Topanga SP and Will Rogers SHP as a precaution. The fire quickly moved onto State Parks property at Topanga SP and that evening, into Will Rogers SHP. While a full assessment of the damages and losses isn’t immediately available, here are the significant impacts known:

Will Rogers’ historic ranch house and other historic buildings at Will Rogers SHP destroyed; Topanga Ranch Motel and all concessions destroyed; State Park employee residences destroyed; More than 30 structural losses at Topanga SP and Will Rogers SHP

Will Rogers’ place was a real gem of Americana. Another iconic piece of Old LA gone forever.

Statistically, ALL wildfires are 99% started by arsonists eco-terrorists.

California...
1) arsonists

2) complete refusal to clean underbrush and create brakes

3) utterly corrupt DEI city and county government

4) A one party State government working feverishly to remove dams, empty reservoirs, and let all snowmelt and rainwater flow straight to the ocean.

The revolutionary democratic party is an utter disaster.

Yep... and with the millions of illegals pouring in, it’s probably impossible to change short of a massive societal trauma on the order of the Great Depression or worse.

You can bet Joetato and his DC goons are working feverishly to lock in tax payer handouts to “build back better” L.A. before Trump comes in.

Then there will be commmie Mayor Bass, she will be crying.... but but the Olympics are coming...with her hand held out wanting other people’s money to bail her out.

The problems in L.A. county are just starting. Where are all the displaced people going to live? The rebuild will be painful with hundreds if not thousands squeezed out from ever rebuilding. There will be a skilled labor shortage. Of course the usual suspects will profit off the carnage. I suspect it will be 10-15 years before the burned out areas no longer look like a moonscape.

Has this been contained at all?
Could be worse then you think.

I live 35-45 miles east of the fires. All regular TV programming has been preempted by 24/7 fire coverage for two days. As of 8:00 pm when I went lights out for the night I don’t belive there was any containment. Now that I’m catching back up there are new fires. The winds did die down which should help.

Broadcast TV networks interrupted daytime programming nationwide (or at least ABC and CBS).

No one-party government of any description will work anywhere.

But Liberals will strive for it at all costs even though examples of pathetically failed attempts can be seen all over the world and in US cities, where Liberals have succeed in silencing Republican voices

To protect California from being destroyed by its politicians, President Trump will just have to declare the entire state a national monument and off limits to state (mis)management.
