Why Do People Sneeze in a Series of Three?

Sometimes I sneeze in multiples much greater than three! And it’s hard to stop!

DH has a genetic condition where if he eats or drinks until he’s full, he starts sneezing uncontrollably. It’s quite embarrassing at restaurants.

I sneeze in threes every time, sometimes I do get the occasional one or two bonus ones as well. When I have those my father-in-law says after three you’re just showing off!
