Everybody likes parfaits!
Secretariat also died of laminitis.
In the rare moment I think of Donkeys at all, I sometimes confuse them with Mules. I think one of those is a sterile hybrid, and cannot reproduce. Similar to a Dolphin and a Porpoise. Aren’t they the same thing? ///
Princess Fiona: But how will you kiss me?
Shrek: What? That wasn’t in the job description.
Donkey: Maybe it’s a perk.
Shrek is a totally obnoxious piece of political propaganda not worthy of the stage or screen
We Live in a Simulation. The evidence is everywhere. All you have to do is look.

I'm never disappointed when I burro into the details.
Perry, a miniature donkey, had been a star attraction at Bol Park in Palo Alto - in northwestern California - for almost 30 years before he was sadly euthanised on Thursday.
There's ***always*** a Jewish angle:
Bol Park History
The donkey pasture was once part of a farm owned by the Bol family, who fled Europe as Hitler rose to power. Cornelius Bol, a Stanford professor and inventor of the mercury vapor lamp, and his wife, Josina, had six children. Six donkeys soon joined the family menagerie and lived out their lives on the Bols’ farm, savoring the attentions of generations of neighborhood children.

Perry (Pericles)
Born: 1994
Sex: Male
Type: Jerusalem miniature donkey
Nickname: The Celebrity
Claim to fame: The animation of ‘Donkey’ in the Shrek movies was modeled on our very own Perry.More about Perry
Perry joined the Barron Park donkeys in 1997. He was originally brought to California to be a calming influence for polo ponies–but instead of calming them, he nipped at them! Thus, Perry needed a new home, and found one in Barron Park.
Perry is famous because he was the animation model for Donkey in the Shrek movies. In 1999, animators from Pacific Data Images, a local company contracted by Dreamworks for the 3D animation, visited the pasture and observed Perry, especially his movements and gait, to learn how donkeys move. Unfortunately, although Donkey was a hilarious and well-loved star in Shrek, Perry is not mentioned in the movie credits.
"Perry" [פרי] first appears in the Torah on the third day (3x as "fruit", verses 11-12).
A note about "Shrek" [שרק] -- the same letters spell sheker [שקר], "falsehood". Sheker is the subject of much commentary for its letters being out of order and on one side of the alef-bet, unlike emet, "truth".
The letters of sheker as "Shrek" [שרק] are in order, in reverse, and not in a place people might look (in the place of a donkey).
If the Sages of the Talmud needed a letter to symbolize truth, why didn’t they pick the א, the first letter of emet? Because the letter tav represents humankind’s ultimate destination, the culmination of our Divine service to perfect the world. And this truth will be unveiled in the final stages of the coming of Moshiach.Additionally, the Talmud comments that the word sheker, or falsehood (the antithesis of emet), is written with the letters shin, kuf and reish: the last three letters in the aleph-bet before the tav. Emet, meanwhile, is spelled aleph, mem and tav: the first, middle, and last letter of the aleph-bet. The question is, why are the letters of emet so spread out in contrast to those of sheker? The Talmud concludes that the letters of sheker are close together because falsehood is common.
Truth, on the other hand, is very hard to find. This is depicted by the vast expanse between its letters.

When the Shrek movies were a thing, my kids would tell their friends that one of their favorite bedtime stories was Balaam and the talking donkey in Numbers 22. It’s a Bible story that you don’t have to work hard to make it funny for kids to remember. It should be in every kids’ Bible story book.
that animal received better medical care than most human beings.
I just can’t stop crying. I hate onions.
Donkeys are very different from horses or mules. In the wild, female donkeys band together in a close “friendship” group, though males tend to be loners. Unlike horses, who lead hierarchical lives, female donkeys have a personality more like large, friendly dogs. They can get attached to their owners and try to follow them around.
Burros, “the national bird of Mexico”, are a small breed of donkey, descended from donkeys used by prospectors. The small town in northwest AZ, called Oatman, has more friendly burros than people. Very tourist friendly. They are not bashful at all about soliciting human food treats.
