NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick, who has been giving public updates on the tragedy on Bourbon Street that killed 10 on New Year's Eve, may look familiar to those in the Bay Area.
That's because she served as Oakland's police chief from 2017 to 2020.
She was the city's first female police chief.
Kirkpatrick was fired three years later by an independent commission.
She sued, claiming wrongful termination for exposing corruption and abuse of power within the department and received a $1.5- million dollar settlement.
She was hired by New Orleans in 2023.

C’mon Man…looks like she aces the physical fitness requirement every time.
Can run down a perp, scale a 10 ft wall, and take him down!
Well, I kinda like her (so far).
She did blame it on, “evil”, and didn’t tapdance around weasel-worded rationalizations saying “demographics”, etc.
We shall see...
Lord help the people of NO with that “chief”. How could anyone take her seriously? She needs to be knitting in a rocker on the porch.
She did not properly seal off Bourbon street .
She is not the only person thats needs to go after that screw up .
And I know tons that have absolutely no intention of retiring and are well into they’re 70s.
Depends on the person I guess but in regards to this kirkpatrick woman, she strikes me as someone who even though it appears she is completely incompetent, likes being in authority and people like that don’t go away easily.
Also, she was appointed so there’s no voting her out.
Kirkpatrick was appointed interim superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department by Mayor LaToya Cantrell in September 2023, and after confirmation by the city council was sworn in as Superintendent in November 2023.”
“Tell us about your most important felony arrest.”
Nice. I’m stealing that.
I’m with you
Not too reassuring if you ask me:
“Kirkpatrick vowed to correct any lapse in security in preparation for the NFL’s biggest day of the year.”
“The Super Bowl is still in play,” she added. “We are going to harden our target. We will correct any kind of gaps that there have been – those will be corrected. And you will see today, you will experience today, what we can do.”
DEI degrades and ultimately kills everything it touches.
It’s going to be a long road back to meritocracy.
“Tell us about your most important felony arrest.”
I know right?
My money’s on a big GOOSE EGG.
I worked in the DoD for over 30 years my friend......I saw DEI before it had a name.....
And is a primary contributing factor as to why federal civil servants have such a bad reputation.
I could tell you stories that would make your hair stand on end.
My job was at a US Navy aviation maintenance facility.......how the work that came out of that place never killed any air crew still amazes me to this day....and I’m not even exaggerating.
She said she had a plan. She said the terrorists beat her plan.
Here’s a clue, you didn’t block off the sidewalks from cars.

Said that many times. Sometimes it applies to me.
I’ll be 73, and I swear if I had a date with her, my brothers would conduct and intervention. She is one boney assed bitch.
“The amazing thing is not that it is so screwed up, the amazing thing is that it works at all.”
We had a saying at my facility:
“20% of people that actually know what the hell they are doing, doing all the work and pulling a wagon with the other useless 80% that aren’t doing a damned thing.”
That’s the nly way it works at all snd is the whole problem with federal government employees in a nutshell.
Yes but you know the deal quotas count inclusion is unity or some BS like that.

Mayve if she was wearing a lady cop hat......one that fit her?....../s.
