I’ve got the source! A guy I worked with at Jung’s left being our Nursery Manager to operate his own goat operation. ;)

Yep. Mom would line us up - Me, Sis and the Dog for our spoonfuls of Castor Oil. Only the DOG liked it, LOL!

"I really want a milk cow in the worst way.."

Diana Dairymaid! Its Wisconsin and so understandable! Fresh raw milk is excellent and good for you, and Stew would probably enjoy the company. Are you thinking of a Jersey or a Mini Jersey? Lots of cream! I think about a milk cow when I think about my imaginary quarter-section!

(However, himself or someone who makes yogurt occasionally would probably say that anyone who decides to "Do Dairy" better have a lot of relatives or friends willing to learn to milk or that person will never have any vacations, and, of course, a creamery area with a stove and sink, cheese boxes, rolls of cheese cloth, and aging racks, and bags of salt ready because you will need to do something with all the gallons of milk and cream beyond what anyone might typically use in their morning coffee! That, or local people interested in purchasing excess raw milk. No, I have not been talking to "himself"!)

It was late May, they like it warm to germinate. I had a piece of plastic over the pot for a little while. Those seeds grew into plants and bore fruit about the same time as a few nursery bought plants. I’m going to do the same this year.

Excellent! Thank you!

Discovering shishitos was my new favorite thing about food this year. We used them in lots of stuff. I never froze anything because we just kept eating up what I bought. I saved those seeds, though! We will see if I have any luck at all from them.

I’m in zone 6b and during a stroll through my local Menards yesterday I was surprised to see several seed racks already on display. (For those not familiar with Menards imagine that walmart and home depot got together and had very large baby.)

This one is named, ‘Stewart’ but he goes by, ‘Stew.’ ;)

LOLLLLL! Thanks for that laugh! I'll trade ya -

My dil was quoting a (I think Christian) comedian, and said;

"So Mary finally gets baby Jesus down for a nap, and this little boy shows up and says; "Let me play a little drum solo for ya!"

heheheh

I never did pull all the bok choy and Asian greens but they all made it through the low 20s. Tatsoi/Chijisimai didn't even flinch, nor did the Yellow Heart Winter Choy of course. Purple Choy Sum got a little wilty but perked back up.

I think I better go ahead and pull most everything but I'm going to leave 1 or 2 of everything to see how they do. Got some precipitation coming as it turns cold - snow, freezing rain, and sleet. The ground is holding heat though because of it being mild. May end up with a thin coat of ice on everything else, including the vehicles. Will be interesting to see the tunnel with 1/8 inch of ice on it. The wind will probably take it out by flexing the poly - because of course it's gonna be windy when it gets cold. Gotta have that below zero wind chill don'tcha know. I did grocery shopping today and will probably hit Dollar General Saturday and use that $5 off $25 coupon.

I was grabbing my son some apples and saw something new, Dragon Fruit. Very strange looking and the tree is even stranger looking.

Tropical cacti native to S Mexico and Central America. I doubt one would survive the upcoming 1 degree mornings.

How long is that good til? I can’t get over there until tomorrow at the earliest. Need some bird food that I can’t seem to get at Walmart anymore.
