Ex-NASA astronaut encounters mysterious flying orbs 9,000 ft. in air (over Texas)

Two months before the recent wave of unexplained drones in New Jersey and other parts of the Northeast, a former NASA astronaut encountered mysterious metallic orbs while flying a private plane, he revealed in an interview with NewsNation’s The Hill.
Leroy Chiao, who was a commander on the International Space Station, had a near-collision with unidentified flying objects in the panhandle of Texas in August as he was flying from Colorado in a small airplane.
“I was about 9,000 feet (in the air), and suddenly, out of nowhere, these two big metallic spherical orbs, one on top of the other about three feet in diameter, each went zipping by the left side of my airplane right underneath about 20 feet away,” Chiao said.
The unmanned aircraft was not on the Federal Aviation Administration air traffic control radar, Chiao said.
“I got a good look at them only for a second, and it happened so quick, there wasn’t even a chance to get scared, but it could have been a bad result if they had actually hit me,” he said.
The former astronaut has flown several state space missions before, three of which lasted six months on the ISS. He said it’s “hard to believe” the government doesn’t know what’s going on with the drones that have been flying in New Jersey near U.S. military facilities.

Absolutely. They should clear their stories with Freepers before they go public and embarrass themselves.
Stupid astronauts and pilots.;-)

Ever since that female astronaut drove from Texas to Florida to kill her lover wearing a pair of ‘depends’ to avoid bathroom breaks... My opinion of astronauts and their accounts of UFO’s has become somewhat diminished .

Was he even surprised if there was no turbulence? Questions..

More ridiculous distractionsThat's something the federal government says too, Mayorkas and Kirby for example. So you are in full agreement with them.
To: Ken522
Don’t forget—if the pilot crashes into one of these things it is “pilot error”.
Lol.

It's interesting that Leroy Chiao has a PhD in chemical engineering and used to work at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab, where he did research on aerospace composites.
He wouldn't know the difference between a weather balloon and a flying squirrel.

The experts on Free Republic will tell you naval fighter pilots and commanders of spacecraft don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
