"Hallelujah" is a song written by Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, originally released on his album Various Positions. Achieving little initial success, the song found greater popular acclaim through a new version recorded by John Cale in 1991. Cale's version inspired a 1994 recording by Jeff Buckley that in 2004 was ranked number 259 on Rolling Stone's "the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". Wikipedia
Merry Christmas to all here on FR.
Ya know, I finally paid attention to the words some years back and though they are not religious like I had thought, they are powerful and true and it’s a beautiful song
Il Divo does a wonderful version...but I’m a WOP so I’m partial :)
Merry Christmas!!
Thanks for posting. Merry Christmas to all posters.
Il Divo is my favorite version. Johnny Depp and the Norwegian Trio also have great versions.

My favorite song is Track #7 Nevermind, but the whole album is very decent, at least for me. 🙂👍
Kaylee Rogers, rather. 🙂
Really?? I am going to go listen to it now :)

Ever read the lyrics? Nothing religious at all. One particlar line sort of makes me shudder. Song is vastly overrated.

Yes. It’s a dreadful song.
He’s like Bill Clinton. Talented and used it to use women. Many others like him out there. Paul Gauguin comes to mind.
I saw them live three times in Palm Springs before they lost Carlos. They are not the same without him. Merry White Christmas my FRiend.
