A new poll by of 2,000 adults who celebrate Christmas, carried out by Aldi, has found that those born in 1996 or later are apparently “turning their back on” traditional favourites in favour of festive dishes with some sort of “modern twist”.

They’re good roasted in the oven on a sheet tray, in olive oil, garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper. They get a little burned and black and crispy on the outside.
Add bacon to that and yum.

Add chopped celery to that and some nuts.
Milk and cranberries were a bad combo. . No problem with the cranberries themselves, just couldn’t drink milk with them. The two foods clashed .

I quite agree! I frequently will buy a 2 lb package of bacon ends and pieces. I put them in a cast iron skillet and put it in the oven at 450° for about 30 minutes (stir a few times), add time as needed. Delicious little chunks of bacon! I pour the grease through a strainer into a jar we keep in the refrigerator for future culinary delights. I had just taken the skillet out of the oven when I read this...
Interesting observation and thoughts. People just trying their hardest to make Christmas be a bad thing. They already tied Trump’s victory to having a lousy Thanksgiving, so I’m sure there will be articles about Christmas soon too.
As a teen I would bring fruit cake along on backpacking trips. Still love the stuff.

I love mince pie. I eat some every Christmas and wonder what my mince-pie-banning Puritan ancestors would think of that. For some reason, it amuses me.

I add dried cranberries to my morning oatmeal - adds a sweetness and texture that greatly enhances the oatmeal.
Borden discontinued thing about it yet.e None Such minced meat filling earlier this year but received so much negative pushback that they re-released it. Folks selling it on Amazon are actually re=selling what they previously bought commercially, and the prices are really high. There are other brands available on Amazon at more normal prices. Haven’t tried any of those yet. I’m exploring making my own, but haven’t
