Hound hunters. Having a bear treed allows them to look it over. They leave a lot of them, and look for a bigger/ better specimen.

I was wondering... I have 0 desire to hunt bear. I have run across them elk hunting, I I could not shoot one in a tree. That’s effed up.

We raise Treeing Walker Coon Hounds. If you hunt bear with dogs, that's where you WANT the bear - NOT on the ground chewing up your dogs.

Others hunt over bait. They set up bait stumps and trail cameras and THOSE guys shoot bears on the ground. They don't hunt with dogs.
