College Football Playoff bracket Oregon (13-0)* Georgia (11-2)* Boise State (12-1)* Arizona State (11-2)* Texas (11-2) Penn State (11-2) Notre Dame (11-1) Ohio State (10-2) Tennessee (10-2) Indiana (11-1) SMU (11-2) Clemson (10-3)** * received first round bye

** received automatic qualifier as fifth-highest ranked conference champion

Boise is ranked 8th but get a first round bye as a conference championship. Set to play on New Year's Day.

Note: Idaho is in the FCS Playoff so Idaho could have two national champions.

Idaho could have two national champions.

That could lead to serious consequences, like the entire universe being sucked into a gigantic black hole...

In the end, that Oklahoma game doomed Alabama, they still probably get in if the game was closer, but losing 24-3, pretty much disqualified them.

If I had a vote I would have given the final spot to South Carolina.

“Idaho is in the FCS Playoff so Idaho could have two national champions.”

There won’t be a potato picked for a week of that happened.

Penn State fans relieved they are playing SMU instead of Alabama, S. Car., Ol Miss, or Miami.

I thought the third seed would get them a New Years Day game, but apparently Boise State is playing in the Fiesta Bowl on New Years Eve. Sucks as I have a commitment and won’t be able to watch the game.

This is Boise State’s fourth appearance in the Fiesta Bowl and they have won each of the previous games.

I won’t be watching. Strength of schedule is meaningless.

There is no team in the playoffs to support. SMU is TCU 2.0 and will be annihilated. Clemson, Tennessee, Indiana and Boise Junior College are also average teams. BORING.

I wish Alabama would decline the bowl invitation. Who cares about playing in a meaningless bowl against a no-name team? Bowls are obsolete and I won’t be watching, What a disastrous season; Our victory over Georgia was the only highlight.

I hope the sec loses. Thank goodness for the Premier League and the Bundesliga.

Boise is officially Pac-12, I guess: totally unearned top-4 seed. I usually complain about the LACK of respect shown non-major conference teams, including Boise State’s undefeated season, the Big East’s 5-0 bowl season, etc., but how does Boise St rank above Big 12 champ (using that word loosely) Arizona State, one-loss Indiana, etc. Or how about Army which didn’t make it at all?

Also go figure that Notre Dame was a field goal away from undefeated... but what do you make of the fact that one loss was to Northern Illinois???

Oregon is screwed.
Unless it rains in the Rose Bowl, they won’t know how to handle the ball

College Football Playoff

Oregon (13-0) Beat Boise; Beat Penn State; Beat Ohio State
Georgia (11-2) Beat Texas twice; Beat Tennessee; Beat Clemson
Boise State (12-1) Lost to Oregon
Arizona State (11-2) Did not play anyone who is in playoffs
Texas (11-2) Lost to Georgia twice;
Penn State (11-2) Lost to Oregon; Lost to Ohio State
Notre Dame (11-1) Did not play anyone who is in playoffs
Ohio State (10-2) Beat Penn State; Beat Indiana; Lost to Oregon
Tennessee (10-2) Lost to Georgia
Indiana (11-1) Lost to Ohio State
SMU (11-2) Lost to Clemson
Clemson (10-3) Lost to Georgia; Beat SMU

Only ND and AZ State did not play at team in the playoffs.

So some potential rematches.

Oregon vs Boise State for the Championship
Oregon vs Penn State for the Championship
Oregon vs Ohio State for the Quarter Final

Texas vs Georgia for the Championship
Clemson vs Georgia for the Championship
Tennessee vs Georgia for the Championship

Clemson vs SMU for the Championship

There are probably others.

The best ratings would be Georgia vs Oregon and would not be a rematch.

Georgia gets a bye with 2 losses? Clemson in with 3 losses and losing their last game?? Tell me 3 loss Alabama wouldn’t beat them. Ridiculous. And I hate bama.
