That ALL here should never forget how US involvement in WWII began. Under FDR, the First World War, a war said to "end all wars" didn't. And that war was under Woodrow Wilson. Two "progessive" democrats whose leadership has been examined and found sorely lacking.Paving the way to the world we have today. We should never forget the vast sacrifice made by our American Patriots, and the massive change this placed on our Nation for the sake of other countries.

A visit to Pearl Harbor is a must for all Americans capable of making it. I compare my emotions there to how I felt when I visited Gettysburg— Awe and sadness.

The 100th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor is just 17 years away.
That sounds so strange to me.
When I was growing up, the parents of all my friends were World War II veterans.
I knew where all their Fathers had fought, in which service, and their rank.
Closing fast on one century - incredible.

I subbed this movie https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0035533/
And it is a very interesting story of Japanese propaganda. The model and recreation of the attack was so good that the US thought they had live cameras there for a while.

I blame the Vichy French for letting the Japs have their bases in Indochina, which made it possible for them to strike The Philippines and the Dutch East Indies, which was the main reason for them attacking Pearl, to head off the US from intervening.

C-SPAN today had a program on how FDR reacted to the news about the attack (which he received at 3 p.m. Eastern time), up to his speech to Congress on Dec. 8. Very interesting. They ran the audio of his speech to Congress (only 6 minutes long). They may have it on again.
