Utterly disgusting to see what the state department and CIA have done in Syria. Now instead of a strong man keeping things reasonably free and keeping the Islamists under control, we will have an Al-Qaeda Isis nation. This is one of those shameful things America has done in a long time.
Unreal that we and the Israelis flew top cover missions for them.
The one place over there where a female could marry, travel, good a job, get a divorce, dance on Latakia beach while drinking Syrian wine. And we had to ruin it and unleash Isis.
The Sunni majority has been held in check by the brutality of the Soviet and Russian trained state apparatus since the 1960s. What will follow after this possible victory by the majority and their Turkish sponsors will demonstrate the reality of the “democracy” that Leftists want. Two wolves and a sheep discussing what to have for dinner.
So, are we going to have another islamist fundamentalist Afghanistan in the middle east?
Working with Islamic jihadists that formed ISIS led to the capture and murder of several Americans as well as the murders of Christians in both Iraq and Syria.
What will be the cost of this time?
This is probably what our real motivation in Ukraine is.
Weaken Russia on the world stage where we have been going after them for years.
Iraq, Syria, Libya, Venezuela are all Russian aligned or outright allies as with Syria. All are oil producers.
As we deplete the Russians and sponge up their resources in Ukraine, going after their frontier states becomes easier. Meanwhile we spew crap about how Russia wants to rebuild the Soviet empire or keep invading if we don’t stop them in Ukraine, where in all reality we caused that war.
Win-win. Even if Russia had not reacted, we still would have won, ie. Ukraine is in NATO.
No doubt that the argument of Ukraine giving us a huge bang for the buck is true. But the idea that Ukraine is a winner in all of this, or that it’s moral (our Democracy, human rights, sovereignty talk) is all trash.
This is probably what Ukraine was all about all along.
