During his recent Club Random podcast, HBO Real Time host Bill Maher bemoaned the return of Donald Trump to Washington D.C. and insisted that he just might quit both his HBO talk show and his standup career to avoid having to deal with Trump again.
“I’m shitting my pants. I mean, I may quit because I don’t want to do another,” Maher said while speaking with controversial guest Jane Fonda.
“I did all the Trump stuff before anybody. I called him a con man before anyone, I did ‘he’s a mafia boss,’ I was the one who said he wasn’t going to concede the election, I’ve done it,” Maher explained.
“I’m bored with it,” Maher exclaimed as Fonda suggested he just go do something else.
“The show is the politics,” he said of his HBO show, “there’s no other thing, and he’s going to dominate the news like he always does.”
Maher has also said that he may even give up his standup comedy career.
“I could go back. I don’t want to make a big announcement or something. I’m doing a special at the end of the year. It’ll be my 13th for HBO. That’s a lot.”
But before he got to his discussion about giving up his standup career, he brought up the fact that America — especially California — has too many regulations. That shocked Fonda who said she never heard any such thing and that all the regulations are needed.
“You’ve never heard that California is over-taxed and over-regulated? That we are a one-party state where there’s sort of no checks on that sort of extreme leftism?” he asked Fonda.

I’ve never watched this guy in my life. All I have seen of him has been shown by someone else as a clip. I think he’s way overrated and not nearly funny enough to be called a comedian and he’s not smart enough to be called a pundit. I personally wonder how he got so famous with no talent whatsoever. I can only fathom that he must be a government employee.

Back when I watched television some 25 years ago and Bill Maher was new, I used to kind of like his show and some of his points of view. But I realized after a while that he was just a blowhard, and lost interest, and since then, have been repulsed by him.
To me, listening to him is like listening to Senator Fetterman (!).
Every once in a while, a semi-sensible thing comes out of him, then just as rapidly, disappears into the quiet opaque fog of Leftism that encompasses him. I simply pay zero attention to him anymore.
Or Maher.
What is unusual about the President of the United States dominating the news?
The news orgs follow the president everywhere and report on what he does no matter who he is.
If the president calls a news conference the press shows up and reports about what he says and analyze the crap out of it.
Every once in a while Maher says something smart. This is far from one of those times.
If he wants to retire he should just do it and not blame someone for pushing him to it.
Bill Maher bullshit and ratings both going down the drain if he walks out it looks better than getting canned for his next gig if he can even land one.

It would not surprise me at all to see bill on the epstein list.
Then there's Canada, Mexico, freaking out cartels and Blue city citizens standing up to their Sanctuary City mayors... demanding they work WITH Homan and Trump. New York mayor standing up to democrats telling them to try to cancel him... Yeah, it's great. The Trump effect - making the world better. And President Trump isn't even in office (again) yet.

The dude had a rare moment of clarity and realized how worthless his show really is. I don’t put him down for that.
