During his recent Club Random podcast, HBO Real Time host Bill Maher bemoaned the return of Donald Trump to Washington D.C. and insisted that he just might quit both his HBO talk show and his standup career to avoid having to deal with Trump again.
“I’m shitting my pants. I mean, I may quit because I don’t want to do another,” Maher said while speaking with controversial guest Jane Fonda.
“I did all the Trump stuff before anybody. I called him a con man before anyone, I did ‘he’s a mafia boss,’ I was the one who said he wasn’t going to concede the election, I’ve done it,” Maher explained.
“I’m bored with it,” Maher exclaimed as Fonda suggested he just go do something else.
“The show is the politics,” he said of his HBO show, “there’s no other thing, and he’s going to dominate the news like he always does.”
Maher has also said that he may even give up his standup comedy career.
“I could go back. I don’t want to make a big announcement or something. I’m doing a special at the end of the year. It’ll be my 13th for HBO. That’s a lot.”
But before he got to his discussion about giving up his standup career, he brought up the fact that America — especially California — has too many regulations. That shocked Fonda who said she never heard any such thing and that all the regulations are needed.
“You’ve never heard that California is over-taxed and over-regulated? That we are a one-party state where there’s sort of no checks on that sort of extreme leftism?” he asked Fonda.

Call it another positive side effect of the return of Trump.

His TV ratings and demos suck if the info at that site is accurate.
Go ahead and put yourself out of your misery, Maher.
Though I fear it will take folks a while to notice.
Trump effect!
Thinking if Bill is filling his pants does he get closer to the source of the filler by wearing the pants on his head?
Maybe bill should get himself one of those pardons while joe is still handing them out like Halloween candy.
Probably worse than Chris Matthew’s tingle running down his leg. LOL
LOL…
NORMAL AMERICANS: “What’s that disgusting smell? Smells like something died…”
What? You’re not going to leave the country?!
Such a twit.
The interview with Fonda went quite well. It pointed out her naiveté on the direction the democrats are going. It also got pretty deep towards the end regarding relationships. Worth an hour of your time.
Translation: His ratings are in continuous decline and HBO is offering him a drastic cut in compensation to renew his contract.
I can’t see a downside.
Trump’s my guy and like most freepers I can’t wait until Trump’s back in the White House and that scummy Biden is off the stage. That said, Maher has a place using his intellect and insights to assist in maintaining a healthy two party systems.
If his posture had any integrity, he would see Trump’s next four years as a gift of r rich content; a monsterous cow to be milked! Instead, his heart is no longer in it as he’s tired, beaten, and embarrassed. The mask is off and the contempt filled child nerd is back to eating lunch, alone, at his friendless table... exactly where he was when he was 14.
The palpable positive effects already preceding President Trump's Second Inauguration are worth savoring.
Putin is scared, Assad is losing his grip on Syria, the Iranians are ceding ground, China is bracing, Two-Tier Stamer is stammering something about "finding a balance" between the E.U. and America...
And President Trump isn't even in office (again) yet!
Regards,
Maher is that happy that he’s shatting in his pants?
If this is what Maher is doing to his expensive suits as a result of his uncontrolled emotions (vis-a-vis Donald Trump), he must immediately check into an assisted-living facility where, with a lot of hard work and professional counselling, he may be able to recover a shred of what remains of his dignity and self-respect after making such a deeply personal public announcement.
Two a-holes talking to each other, my life is too short for such things
Of course, because now his phony anti-pedo stance appears to mirror DJT's. And yeah, nothing to do with the shift to Jon Stewart's Daily Show and overall shift away from cable shows.
