About 20 years ago, a company hired me and 3 other people (2 foreigners) on contract to do some coding.
They also hired a company with a large number (dozens? hundreds?) of people (many/most? foreigners) and spent over $2 BILLION dollars to do pretty much the same thing that the 4 of us were doing, but in a different computer language.
At the time I left, the $2billion project was still not completed.
I can’t help but wonder if a lot of this crap is just money laundering. No sane person would have continued to pour so much money into such a sinkhole for money with no results for so long.
This was not the first time I saw this, but it was the most costly.
