Washington Commanders managing partner Josh Harris and the NFL Commanders ownership group have agreed to un-cancel the Redskins (the iconic Blackfoot chief logo) history.
In a post on Facebook by Republican Montana Sen. Steve Daines, the Congressman wrote that “The censorship of the former Commanders logo was a classic case of woke gone wrong. I applaud the Commanders & the NFL for their commitment to never censor the logo again.”

I was at Yankee Stadium the day they retired Mickey Mantle’s uniform number 7. (Yes, I am that old. Thank you for asking.)
Mickey really didn’t want to make a speech, but Whitey Ford and Joe DiMaggio kind of pushed him to the microphone.
Mantle took a deep breath and said, “You know, I’ve often wondered how a man like Lou Gehrig could stand here dying and call himself the luckiest man on the face of teh Earth. Today, I think I know how Lou Gehrig felt.”
The fans cheered so hard that I really thought teh upper deck was going to come down.
And the Seminoles…well, after the last few decades of performance, the tribe may be begging FSU to change the name to that of their defeated enemy , The Cree.
Great ad!
Arrows.
Leonid and Friends also do great Carpenters covers.
But the best Carpenters covers, IMO, are by Tori Holub. She sounds so much like Karen Carpenter, it’s eerie.
Exactly!
I kid the people at the local Amish market who sell, among other things, redskin potato salad, that they can’t call it that anymore; it has to be commander potato salad.
Same here.
Chief Illiniwek was unavailable for comment.
I was thinking Navy rank.
I’m guessing they didn’t want to lose the Dallas market (and beyond) to the AFL Dallas Texans.
Can they have their Redskins name back? If not, then it’s too little and basically meaningless. They’re NOT the Commanders, they’re the Redskins and they should be allowed to be proud of it.
Now the rumor is the team will bring back the logo, but not the Redskins name. If true, what’s the point? The Washington Commanders with an American Indian on the helmet makes no sense.
Exactly. Especially given that the AFL also had another inaugural franchise, the Houston Oilers, in Texas. Tom Landry, Offensive Coach for the New York Giants, a Texas native, who lived in Houston during the off season, had been approached to coach the Oilers.
In the then twelve team NFL, Landry was already considered a future head coach. Landry did not want his children growing up as New Yorkers, and coaching in Texas would allow him to be with them year round. The knowledge that Landry would certainly be coaching a professional football team in Texas, in 1960, added to the NFL's impetus to make the Dallas Cowboys happen.
Wokie: Well, they do.
Me: So you, as a white person, are going to whitesplain their lived experience to those black people?
Wokie: I’m not having this conversation.
LOL - Excellent takedown...
Too late.... Eric and the gang already took it.....
Great cartoon too. White liberal ‘elites’ have no idea how insulting they are to the rest of us. Biden’s “Republicans will put ya’all back in chains” if it weren’t for people like me... was easily one of the most condescending insulting things a while liberal ‘elite’ ever said to modern black citizens. Cringe, cringe, cringe...
Thank you.
I’ve found using their own language against them to be effective.
Thanks! That’s my man.
TBP! You da man. I love that. Right on the money too!
I still call my Alma Mater, FORT HOOD!!!
