No matter what students bring to future "show and tells" at Orchard Junior School in the Southampton area of England, they will never be able to top this year's spectacle that shut down and evacuated the school.
One bonkers little tyke brought in a bit of vintage "unexploded ordinance" to show his mates.
The school quickly evacuated all the students, called the police, and texted the parents:
Schools are being closed & evacuated - please collect your child from Noadswood field ASAP.
Imagine getting that little note in the middle of the school day.
Laura Holloway, a mother of one of the students was at work at the time. She said,
It was so worrying. Another parent had called saying there were police everywhere. I knew my youngest would have been so scared.
But, she added:
Both schools seemed to deal with it all very well and had the kids lined up and checked off - it must have been very upsetting for everyone involved.
Once the students were out, the police showed up and sent in the bomb squad.
The police's full statement said: ‘We were called at about 1.30pm to a report that a child had brought what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance to Orchard Junior School.
‘The school was calmly evacuated and a disposal team attended to take the item away to be destroyed as a precaution.'
Not an easy task by any means.
The real question everyone wants to know is "What kind of ‘historic incendiary device' are we talking about here?"
This is England after all. They've been blowing stuff up and getting blown up for centuries.
It could've been anything from a 16th-century mortar to a WWII hand grenade to that morning's beans on toast.
Finally, after calling the cats back after a few hours and them STILL not having my fiber installation cancelled so they STILL can’t cancel my internet, I have someone who will call me back when it’s taken care of.
I had already filled out the form for the FCC and was ready to hit send if they left it one more time with me needing to call them.
So, yesterday - 29 minutes
This morning - 16 minutes - I hung up while on hold because I had to attend a meeting
Later this morning - 33 minutes
Just now - 37 minutes
Cats will wait very patiently for you to go away.
I depend on lucky guesses!
Shake the dust from your sandals...
That cat sounds like my MIL....
Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
We get our sink installed today. Once the heater guy takes a look at our heater (and possibly replaces the HVAC system) maybe we can get a break from putting new things into this house.
Then there’s registering the cars and getting the driver’s licenses. Moving is such fun!
But Wordle was good today.

Good morning. I hope the sink gets installed with no complications.
I thought today was going to be a break from all the stuff, but now my granddaughter will be here in the morning, I’ll have to take her home in the afternoon, and a choir practice has popped up in the evening.
Tiny holes are about to appear in that piece of foil wrapping paper....
Good Midweek Morning!
Yes, moving can be a real drag... definitely the domain of the young...
After two days of driving, it sure feels good to not have to go anywhere for the rest of the week... 🤞🏻
Another so-so Wordle...

My brother says grandchildren are grand. Hopefully your granddaughter is also grand.
Do choir practices normally just pop up? I know we’re heading into Christmas season and all, with music being very important. But I would expect the choir practices to be scheduled.
Mrs. ArGee has done some amazing cooking already. Plus, we prepare dog food every week so the house smells like browned ground turkey from the get-go.
What we need to do is cow these appliances into submission so they’ll quit acting up!
Tomorrow is the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a very big deal for Latin Americans. We’ve been practicing, but Asuncion wanted to have another practice. I was expecting four choir members, but ten showed up. It was fun.
My granddaughter is excellent.
Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!
We have weather. I thought yesterday’s rain would be bringing in a warming spell but ... NOT. We’re being warned to watch for ice on the roads after yesterday’s rain.
I might have gotten today’s Wordle in 4 except I used a word that had the 4th letter in the wrong place again. Oh, well. There are worse things than a 5/6.

Smart! (Those 9 bulbs together do generate some nice heat!)
Good Morning!
Looks like the up-and-down temperature roller coaster will continue... I wouldn’t mind so much if it wasn’t for the “nuisance freezes” that just generate a lot of extra chores for me... I mean, its not like we are going to be able to go ice skating on the stock tanks or anything...
Finally broke the 4 row schneid today... row 2 was very helpful...
