The guy was a lighting rod of controversy from day one when the football Giants over drafted him at pick 6 in 2019. The Giants were not going to play Jones for the rest of 2024 season to insure they are not on thehook to pay him next season if he got hurt.

I could see the Cowboys picking him up.

A lot of speculation that the Giants may try to bring in Deion and Shadeur.

That’s not happening. Deion says he’s happy right where he is.............

“Daniel has been a great representative of our organization, first class in every way. His handling of this situation yesterday exemplifies just that”

Where I used to work we called that a “shit filled twinkie”

If I was still an NFL fan I would be canceling my NYG season tickets. The whole organization has become a colossal embarrassment.

They’ll still beat the Buccaneers this Sunday. Tampa Bay’s sports gods are displeased, not just with the Bucs but with Pinellas screwing over the Rays.

Hope he can land elsewhere and have a chance to resurrect his career like Baker Mayfield has done.

Sometimes a guy who is considered a “bust” just needs to find a change of scenery and get away from a team that is a dumpster fire.

Of course Deion says that now.

I remember right before leaving for Alabama, Nick Saban said that he was happy with the Dolphins.

They Giants specifically wanted Brian Daboll as coach because he worked with Josh Allen in his early years, and figured Daniel Jones was similar.

Jones has the same body and maybe even somewhat similar skill set to Josh Allen, but Josh Allen just seems to make better decisions, knows when to gamble, and is better than Jones at getting out of trouble in the pocket. These are real “intangibles.”

Giants' fans are made of tougher stuff. When the Giants and the Eagles had gone 17 years of bad football, many Giants fans stood outside the stadium on game day and BURNED THEIR TICKETS.

Then, when the Giants were hosting the lowly Chiefs, they called WNBC-TV Channel 4, as NBC then had the rights to NFC hosted AFC/NFC contests, and suggested that they NOT show the Giants because they were so bad. WNBC complied. That game was likely shown ONLY in the KC 9market (KC was bad back then, too).

The Giants responded by getting George Young (GM), Ray Perkins, and ultimately Bill Parcells.

Pinellas is a dumb place to have a stadium, it’s too far away from most folks in the Tampa metro.

If the Rays played near where the Bucs play, their attendance would be much better.

The Buccaneers could still win their Division, even with a losing record.

They only drafted the guy because he had the same private instructor in college as the Manning brothers. If I was an NFL GM I’d never draft a QB at the top of the first round. It’s a roll of the dice (more so than any other position), and with the stupid salary cap rules in place these young QB aren’t given enough time to develop. You’re better off signing a free agent from another team who has already put in the time to learn the position under his rookie contract.

Baker wasn’t a “bust”. He toughed it out through a shoulder injury that should have put him in immediate surgery and off season recovery, was insulted when Cleveland stupidly (a two word cliche) put out a near quarter billion $’a on Watson, and only fully recovered after a trip through Charlotte to Tampa Bay. Good kid and better than average QB. No place in the HOF likely, but will probably have a longer than average NFL career.

Not shocking if you understand contracts- they were going to cut him at the end of the year and they were not going to play him the rest of the season.

Had they played him and he sustained a serious injury, they would’ve been on the hook for more than $23 million in 2025.

Mind as well cut tie now and get the inevitable over with.

LOL- could you imagine Sanders as an NFL coach?? He’s a very mediocre college coach.

That said, Sheduer Sanders or Cam Ward to the NY Giants is a very real possibility.

The Giants offensive line has been garbage the past three seasons...actually garbage is an improvement compared to what the Giants have put on the field.

There are certain organizations that know how to develop a QB....then there are franchises such as Cleveland, the NY Jets where QB’s go to destroy their careers and die a slow death
