Where are gophers normally found?

Old growth forests?

Grassy plains?

The article doesn’t mention how the gophers managed to live.

Were they eating pumice?

More pseudo-science.

The gophers only spent one day digging. Probably caught by live trap containing the only good food there. Then removed.
