Launch of Starship Flight Test 6 is scheduled for tomorrow, 11/19/2024, at 4pm Central time. It appears that Trump will be attending the launch.

I drove all the way down to Brownsville to see Starbase back in May while my wife and I were on a long roadtrip. A complete wild hair “why not?” detour.
It’s incredible what SpaceX has built way out there on the tidal flats. There’s only one road that goes out there, and that runs through the site, and it’s a public highway, so unless there’s a road closure anyone can drive out there, even right up to the launch site. It’s very cool.
The activity out there never stops, and they are constantly expanding, but Elon has said he wants to maintain as much public access as possible. One thing’s for sure, you will never get that kind of up close access at Kennedy Space Center.

I’d dearly love to go to a launch. Might try next year.

We were there a little before Flight 3, so didn’t get to see it in person unfortunately, but the booster was on the pad and the ship was hanging in the chopsticks. So long as you stay on the opposite side of the road from the SpaceX facilities, you can go anywhere and you are VERY close. Everything is right up against the road.
For launches, I think most people watch from South Padre Island, which is just across the water a few miles.

Boca Chica is a cool place to camp. It has closures when SX is doing launches.

Boca Chica is a cool place to camp. It has closures when SX is doing launches. That’s what I’ve heard. I’ve seen videos from the Rocket Ranch, which I understand is a great place to watch from as well, but books up instantly when a launch date becomes clearer. It’s important to check the road closure schedule, even on non-launch days, because they frequently move hardware around using Highway 4.

This is just a fun and relaxing trip for Trump. He has been working his ass off for the last year and not to speak of the same in court. Take a day off Donald. I know you will be working hard from now to the inauguration.
