Axios ^ | 11/15/24 | Stef W. Kight

Next year's outlandish confirmation fights could thrust incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) between his Republican conference and his president

Why it matters: Thune can afford to lose three Senate GOP votes on Trump nominees. But at least six Senate Republicans, depending on the specific nominee, could be in line to blockade President-elect Trump

“resisting” what?

Wasn’t there an election?

Are they resisting the results of the election?

Are they resisting the policies chosen by the American people?

Hopefully Trump has leverage on some of these American traitors.

It would be interesting to know how often they vote with the Democrats.

This drivel is coming from Axios, a reliable Democrat propaganda generator.

Take everything it spews with a 1000 lb grain of salt.

Both of these idiots voted to confirm the transvestite Richard Levine, but somehow Trump’s appointments are unacceptable? Trump should use his bully pulpit to call on his 76 million voters to pressure the House and senate to help him accomplish his agenda.

#3: "Are they resisting the results of the election?"

Sure sounds like insurrection to me. Lock 'em up.

ChatGPT: What % of cabinet nominees who do now withdraw are confirmed by the Senate?

GPT — About 95-99% of cabinet nominees who do not withdraw are confirmed by the Senate. It is very rare for the Senate to refuse confirmation of a cabinet candidate nominated by a president.

The nominees will be confirmed, and likely with substantial bipartisan support. “A president is entitled to the advisors he wants.”

I hate to even suggest it but can we just bribe or blackmail the idiot holdouts who threaten to derail a once in a lifetime opportunity. As we have seen time and again they are all cheap hoooors who should be ashamed at least by just how cheaply they sell themselves.

I would think so. ANWR opening could be one for Alaska....Collins? Threat to pull ALL of her state’s targeted spending if she doesn’t come around... She’s also up for reelection in 2026.....who’s cochair of the RNC now? Could a Republican primary rival get that support?

Tom Cotton is now the chair of the Senate Republican Drum Circle. If the GOP goes squish, he’s your guy.

Certain people could fund certain candidates in the next election to get them thrown out.

There are Republicans and Democrats who do not want the gravy train of wasted taxpayer money to end.

It is as simple as that.

Olympia Snowe and Lisa Murkowski will vote no. So that's two.

Mitt Romney is retiring.

So they can only avoid one more "no" votes. Tillis is likely to deny. But if he does that, he'll lose in the primary in 2026.
