Is the author incapable of writing/speaking like an adult?

In England which is famous for its playful language, Veggie is an adult word.

England is famous for a number of things ... Like, for example, the “Traditions of the Royal Navy”.

Veggie is also used sometimes to refer to a person who’s a vegetarian.

The Brave AI indicates that the first recorded use of ‘veggie’ to mean ‘vegetable’ goes back to 1955; I’m still trying to find the source; but I remember seeing it in a book on vegetarianism in the 1960s.
