The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg said she is part of the working class on Tuesday, adding that she would not be co-hosting the talk show if she could financially afford not to.
Goldberg and her fellow co-hosts discussed a recent social media post from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) asking people why they chose to vote for President-elect Donald Trump, in which she received responses calling both her and Trump “outsiders” from the establishment of Washington, D.C., who care about “the working class.”
Co-host Ana Navarro suggested the next Democratic presidential candidate needs to make a name for himself or herself before running to gain recognition among voters. Goldberg then contended that Trump had been running “for 12 years.”
“I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too, I work for a living,” Goldberg said. “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here. OK? So, I’m a working person, and my kid has to feed her family, and my great-granddaughter has to be fed by her family.”
The co-host’s net worth is estimated to be $60 million. Additionally, her annual salary for co-hosting the show was reported in 2016 to be around $5 million to $6 million.

This is an excerpt from a new book of the “Hunger Games” series, right?
This “Whoopi” character must be one of those over-the-top, foppish out-of-touch members of the Capitol District that rules over Panem.
Those dystopian science fiction authors, they’re so unrealistic!
Fatassed ugly liar.
She can trade my bank account with hers any day.
hey, whoopi, would love to see your working arse get out in a below-zero blizzard and fix a downed high voltage power line or dig a hole in the middle of a street and fix a burst 8” waterline, because THAT’s what actual working people do for a living ... or take a look at any of Mike Rowe’s “America Works” to see what actual working people really do; funny though, i don’t recall any episodes with a gaggle of ignorant harpies sitting around in TV studios yammering about shite they know absolutely nothing about ...
It seems her detractors want to count that 60 million dollars of personal wealth accumulated over 40 years of being a rich celebrity and current pay of 5 or 6 million dollars a year against her claim of just being a poor working girl struggling to get by.
I think they have a point.
Without Starbuck moms she would not be working.
No one has to have all the money in the world to survive. What kind of delusional thinking is that?
We typically think of the “working class” as the people who actually produce something besides words. They may make something, repair something deliver something etc but not just words.
that’s her view...
Whoopie and Oprah are role models for black women. They’re 100% pro Democrat. Black women supported Kamala at the standard 90%. Government has replaced men as providers for black women. Black women like abortion. Educated black women love DEI. That’s a tough nut for Republicans to crack.
Another demento.
Educated black women love DEI. That’s a tough nut for Republicans to crack.
They shouldn’t even try, they would lose more votes trying to do it, then they would gain.
No one actually thinks they have a lot of money. Even really wealthy people don’t think they have enough.
I still get a kick out of “Caesar Flickerman”.
Life imitates art.
Last July I flew to London...in Economy. It was an A380...which is much bigger than a Challenger 600.
Whoopi The Hutt
Zerobama...
LMAO! When I write his last name, I use the zero for the capital O.
M phone recognizes it as 0bama. Just like this!
Victimhood.
Should we set up a go-fund-me page to help support Whoopie and her poor destitute family?
Hers was a real old POS. A really dumb buy of a really run-out high time bird. After we delivered it, she had to find pilots. I’m sure that wasn’t an easy gig. We sold another biz-jet to Oprah’s “Steadman” that year. It must have been a competitive thing?
