FDA Recalls 80K Pounds of Costco Butter from Costco — Label Didn’t Say ‘Contains Milk’
Breitbart ^ | November 11, 2024 | Bob Price

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ordered the recall of nearly 80,000 pounds of butter produced in Texas for Costco. The agency ordered the recall because the product packaging contained no “Contains Milk” allergy statement.

Food & Wine reported that the FDA issued a Class II recall on November 7 for 79,200 pounds of Kirkland Signature Sweet Cream Butter (salted and unsalted). The FDA claimed the butter packaging lists “cream” as an ingredient but does not bear the “Contains Milk” allergy statement.

The New York Post posted on social media that the recall was based on the “dumbest possible reason.”

this kind of intrusive, oppressive, chickensheitish, costly interference with people’s lives is clear evidence that the federal bureaaucrappy is way, way too bloated and needs significant trimming

the more of these superfluous and, in many instances, harmful federal staffers that can be reassigned to useful and constitutional duties or simply retired, the better

Just put up a sign in the stores: BUTTER CONTAINS MILK BECAUSE IT'S MADE FROM MILK.

The FDA claimed the butter packaging lists “cream” as an ingredient but does not bear the “Contains Milk” allergy statement....Others posted their dismay that butter is being recalled because the product labeling didn’t tell people that butter is made from cream, which is made from milk.
Food & Wine added:
Though the FDA has not put out information on what to do if you have purchased these recalled items — nor has it shared if there have been any illness or adverse reactions from consuming the product — the usual course of action is to either discard them or return them to your place of purchase just in case. - https://www.breitbart.com/border/2024/11/11/fda-recalls-80000-pounds-of-butter-from-costco-in-texas-over-labeling-issue/

"Just in case" of what? In case it contains milk?

In other news, whole wheat bread was recalled bcz it did not include “Contains Wheat” allergy statement.

I believe it was originally the Lark Ascending, but at the point when it felt a bit light-headed, it descended, and subsequently offered up its vomit.

Like Vivek says, when you have federal agencies you have people looking for something to do.

Butter contains milk - who’d have thunk?

Or from the city.
I showed my wife’s sister how to make butter with the cream she had on hand a couple years ago.
Did it in her oh so special mixer.

AND SHE WOULDNT USE IT!

I churned I don’t know how much butter when I was a kid.

I'm sure that people in Gaza, Venezuela, and Mexico would happily eat it.

Why didn't they just print an erratum sticker in red which says: "Contains Milk" and slap it on the package?

Beyond that, anyone with a milk allergy should have the sense to avoid butter. DUH.

Holy cow, very sneaky of them to slip milk in without telling anyone. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if they are, also, slipping milk in cheese. Now I’m not so sure buttermilk is legitimate; I’ll bet it’s really either milkmilk or butterbutter.
