John Frankenheimer directed a movie called Seven Days in May in the 1960s, starring Kirk Douglas as a military officer who uncovers a coup against the president of the United States by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who signed a deeply unpopular nuclear disarmament treaty. That’s a movie. In 2024, the Pentagon brass plotted to countermand President-elect Donald J. Trump’s orders. If we’re going by the Left’s rules here, this is an insurrection. It’s a military coup. What’s worse is that these anti-Trump meetings were held in secret and then got leaked to the media (via CNN):
Pentagon officials are holding informal discussions about how the Department of Defense would respond if Donald Trump issues orders to deploy active-duty troops domestically and fire large swaths of apolitical staffers, defense officials told CNN.
Trump has suggested he would be open to using active-duty forces for domestic law enforcement and mass deportations and has indicated he wants to stack the federal government with loyalists and “clean out corrupt actors” in the US national security establishment.

“We are all preparing and planning for the worst-case scenario, but the reality is that we don’t know how this is going to play out yet,” one defense official said.
Trump’s election has also raised questions inside the Pentagon about what would happen if the president issued an unlawful order, particularly if his political appointees inside the department don’t push back.
“Troops are compelled by law to disobey unlawful orders,” said another defense official. “But the question is what happens then – do we see resignations from senior military leaders? Or would they view that as abandoning their people?”

Sound like they’re planning a showdown. Tump has to do what the demonparty wouldn’t hesitate to do if the situation were reversed. Time to use the law and the power.
I think president Trump needs to approach this in a similar manner to what Ronald Reagan did to the air traffic controllers. A hot knife through butter.
Hang them from the nearest yardarm if there is any left.
Even the lowest buck private in the military is told, and knows, that he is under no obligation to obey an unlawful order..
A great sifting is needed.
Executive Order that creates a unit of polygraphers sent by county sheriffs to insure lawful loyalty to POTUS and the US Constitution. Do all the federal polygraphers first. DoD, FBI, CIA.
Then FBI and DoD counterintelligence. (There already would have been a massive stampede to the exit doors by this time).
Then find out who was in these meetings, and who is entertaining ideas to thwart the presidency. (Larger stampede for the exit doors).
Lastly, find out who in the Joint Staff J-1 and SecDef, forced the clot-shot on DoD members, knowing it was experimental.
The President should immediately have contractors come in to build a tall, 10-person gallows in the middle of the Pentagon’s large courtyard; visible from all inner-office windows. No notices, permissions sought or questions answered. Just build it and let the perfumed princes ponder on it for a while.
We need similar by the State Department, also. Why are all the leadership position names there Arabic?
Find out who attended the meeting and fire them all on the first day of office.
Is this a plot?
BTTT
And another not really thought of civil war scenario emerges. American people vs their own self-righteous woke military.
All of these traitorous aholes need to go!
Yeah. Fire them all or assign them to 4 years post in Syria.
I took this meeting to be an exploration of just how much insubordination the system would be able to protect. The main topic was ostensibly the use of troops at the border but it is likely to apply to just how far such things as institutional DEI policies may be retained against clear direction otherwise as well. Without more information it’s too soon to use the “M” word - mutiny - but fuzes tend to be very short in this particular realm.
No, it absolutely cannot. An officer can be dismissed by a court martial panel. There’s no stroke-of-the-pen revocation of a commission.
Colonel, USAF JAGC (Ret)
Even if they are not of the obstructionist persuasion there are just too many flag officers for our current force size.
You had better believe this is serious. And if serious consequences are not immediately imposed, and I mean court martial and actual jail time, then this cancer will quickly spread and kill us all.
Bttt
Find out who was involved in these meetings. Fire everybody. All of them. Day one.
Wouldn’t the first step be for the current SecDef to ask for the collaborators resignations today? Or was he in on it too?
People sometimes use the expression “took this meeting” to indicate “I attended this meeting.” Did you intend that, or did you intend to say “I took this report to be saying that...”?
