I always thought their national anthem was kind of pretty..... Yes, coming from the country of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Borodin and others, it is a pretty melody.
It’s a shame they sullied it by using it to represent and celebrate Communism..

Roscoe Holcomb was the king,of the “high lonesome sound”- a type of Appalachian mountain music singing that combined foreign dialect or rather accent on words with modern blues-
It’s an acquired taste I guess- I did like the soggy version too, but do,enjoy the high lonesome sound that the soggy version lacks
