Hertz, proudly leading the way in alienating their customers and ruining their brand.
And they might even have you arrested for car theft after you properly returned your rental vehicle.

What will those scamps think of next?
Unlimited internet is also not Unlimited
Sheesh.... How does one do 25,000 miles in one month? For a 30 day month, that’s 833 miles a day. At an average of 60 mph, that’s 13.9 hours of driving....
How are they still even inn business?
I rented a Hertz car in New Mexico last year in Albuquerque. It was a “dealer special” which means I do not know what car I will get but it was at a really good price. I showed up and the manager said, “I was supposed to give you an EV, but I will not do that to you.” I said “EVs are a piece of S—t.” He said, “yes they are a piece of S—t.” I thanked him, he was a good guy. He obviously had much problems with EVs.
But now that they have apologized it is all better.
Honestly Hertz has got have an entire department dedicated to coming up with new ways to make people hate them. That is the only explanation.
I bought my wife’s car from Hertz, a 2018 Toyota Avalon in March 2019 with 23,000 miles for $20,000 even. It turned out to be a great deal. We just passed 100,000 miles and no issues whatsoever.
That’s almost a thousand Miles a day...How is that physically possible?
“FREE” as written in the contract, does not mean the same as “UNLITIMED” as stated in the verbal agreement. What was the full paragraph in the written contract?
I rent from Enterprise.
I have been known to drive from my house in northwest Mississippi to New Mexico and back in 5 days for a total of 2,400-2,500 miles.
Love those unlimited miles!
I had a rental pickup for 8 weeks straight and drove it from home base (northwest Mississippi/Memphis, TN.) to Pensacola twice, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Illinois, etc during that time period…had to stop and get the oil changed twice and was getting close to a third oil change before I returned it.
Always understand if you’re renting from a Hertz owned and operated location or a franchisee or independent operator. Only use company owned and operated locations. That’s true for any national rental car company. I would bet this location is a franchisee.
Why does anyone rent from Hertz?
