When will we know who has won the US election?

In some presidential races the victor has been named late on election night, or early the next morning. This time, the tight race in many states could mean media outlets wait longer before projecting who has won.

Democrat Kamala Harris, the current vice-president, and Republican Donald Trump, the former president, have been running neck-and-neck for weeks.

Well, the swing states - every one of them - have all come down with a serious illness which doesn’t allow them to do what all the non-swing states do - count their votes in one night. So we’ll have to give the likes of Maricopa County their moment for national attention and potential election fraud, and wait for a week or two. Everyone hates this except Democrats.
