Why would you want to beat the air out of an innocent biscuit? All that would do is make it taste like cardboard.

People often used a hammer on beaten biscuits.

They’re not like regular ‘biscuits’ - not fluffy and airy.

But a machine for them wouldn’t look like that, but more like an old clothes mangle or ‘wringer’:
