Anything is possible ... but right up until the time those two dopes assaulted the Dodgers player last night, the Yankees looked like a team that didn’t even belong in the playoffs. It’s amazing they played better than .500 ball this season, considering how awful they are at hitting in big spots and playing sound fundamental baseball. It’s like they’ve got 6-7 players on the field whose best position is DH.
And they did it with the Yankees only needing one last strike to sweep the Sox.
The reason we have elections is to that we can enjoin life. Sports is a way to enjoy life. For some people politics is a sport.
We can multitask.
Think of the Bears last Sunday.

But in remaining games all LA needs is one

Baseball, like all sports, is an imperfect test of skill. The reason we play four out of seven is to reduce "flukiness". It is interesting to consider the number of times that World Series have gone 4-0, 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, and compare the results to what we would expect if the teams were equally matched and the results just the results of chance. There have been 118 World Series since 1915, not counting the current match. The results are:
4-0 21 times
4-1 27 times
4-2 28 times
3-3 42 times
The expectation, if the games teams were equally matched and the outcome the result of chance would be closer to
4-0 2 times
4-1 13 times
4-2 39 times
3-3 65 times
The statistical preference for more lopsided margins than what would be expected by chance, and close series less frequently indicates that the better team wins more often than not. Of course, matches won by one game only weakly indicate superior skill.

I’m hardly a mystic, but I think those two Yankee fans who ripped the ball out of Mookie Betts glove put some bad ju-ju on their prospects of a 3-0 comeback. (something that’s never happened in w World Series before)
