I love pistachios, but they are somewhat expensive.
Couldn’t I get my required luteum from tablet supplements?
I’ve seen them sold. and at low prices.

And if millions americans eat pistachios for 6 months, the American Pistachio Growers gets billions, but if our eyesight doesn’t get any better, what recourse do we have?

I guess I can’t blame the American Pistachio Growers association for their borderline fraud. But who is this Scitech daily, and how much are they making for publishing this junk?

“In the study, about 1.6 mg of lutein was provided from pistachios, which would be enough to double the average daily consumption of lutein...”

An egg contains about 1 mg lutein and comes with fat to aid absorption.

A serving of leafy greens like kale and spinach- even Romaine lettuce- has several times the amount of lutein that a serving of pistachios has.

Bell peppers, especially the green ones, are loaded with lutein.

Yellow sweet corn and corn products like corn chips and tortillas also have larger amounts of lutein than pistachios.

Other, less expensive sources of higher levels of lutein:
Kale, romaine lettuce, spinach, and corn. Other foods that have less lutein, include parsley and green pepper.
My multivitamin has 300 mcg, which is, imo, nearly insignificant.

One in each ear before election, good for mental health. With all the Harris, Hitler, Haley, Hinchcliffe, Hillary, I’m losing my grip.
