Double. . The ball cleared first base bag (fair) and hooked a little toward the wall and the fanbois. If it would have gone out of the park, it would have been a double by rule
I don’t care for either one, but what a comeback NY pulled off last night! That grand slam put them right back into it!
You need to take a close look at the slo-mo replay.
I suggest take a close look at the slo-mo replay.
I saw something worse in a summer game many years ago (maybe 1985). The visiting team's fielder (either the third baseman or the left fielder) caught a fly ball just inside the stands but one of the fans took it out of his glove, so it was declared a home run instead of an out because the umpires didn't see what happened. Home town fan helped the home team, with no repercussions.
I don't remember who was playing or what the final score was.
Drama queen. He had his feet on the ground (albeit by tiptoes). Dumb move, should earn a lifetime ban but quit clutching your pearls so tightly, Margie.
No. Fly balls are judged foul or fair based on where they land, exit the park, are caught or strike the stadium structure. Ground balls are based on where they first land past the bag.
Agree about the lifetime ban.
They should have called it the end of the inning. Not JUST the batter being out.
Bullcrap.
I would not be surprised if the Yankees pull his Season Tickets.
It was true but not anymore. The Yankees were gonna let him see the fifth game but MLB stepped in and said no. It seems MLB runs post season games rather than the individual organizations. Not sure why the Yankees weren’t coming down harder on the guy.
