There is so much about human civilization that we don’t know. Archaeology is such a cool science. I’m still waiting for the voids in Tut’s tomb and the Great Pyramid to be explored.

The ice age began to recede about 12,000 years ago, unleashing great global flooding, which was remembered as a local total destruction flood “of everything” in many civilizations around the world. It took another 8,000 years or so of “recovery” by the human remnants before what we now call the “acient civilizations” developed, in different parts. There were great civilizations in the middle latitudes during the ice age, but we know nothing of them. We only know the tales (myths) remembered, not in total accurancy, by their scattered remnants some thousands of years later.
