I eat SMALL quantities of EVERYTHING. When eating meat of any kind, I try hard to eat larger quantity of veggies. I can not get enough of filet mignon and pork ribs at Longhorn Steakhouse, with sides of Asparagus and sweet potato. But that is once in a month treat.
Secret to my good health at age 84 is (IMHO) daily brisk walk for 20 minutes with 1 Lb wrist weights on each hand. Just had my 4 month blood work last week at Quest lab. Saw the doctor today to go over results. Everything is perfect. My out of pocket medical expenses are ZERO. On doctors advice I take 5mg Statin pills on M-W-F. Only other meds is 10 mg Lisinopril daily, to counteract my frequent indulgence on pizza from restaurants. My body likes to hoard sodium.
What is the first part of a kill big cat carnivores (including cheetah) eat? It is bowels of herbivores, full of plant matter.
As a woman I knew would say “Just knock the horns off!”
I like your thinking...
I eat a crap load of red meat, drink ultrafiltered milk, drink beer and sometimes a little whiskey, smoke cigarettes daily and take zero meds. 😉
It’s not red meat you stupid morons it’s IRON.
Ergo “over consumption of Spinach, Broccoli and Tofu are bad for you”
I prefer grilling mine.
“addition to age and family history, lifestyle factors such as diet, inactivity, obesity, smoking, and excess alcohol consumption”
In others words the link is as ironclad as the link between consuming water and death.
“Worse than cancer is the complete lack of dietary fiber.”
Why do you think that is a problem?
Our latest Angus steer arrived two weeks ago. His name is 'Stewart.' He goes by 'Stew.' He's cute and cuddly now, but within the next 18 months he'll become a surly Teenager, will more than likely make a break for it a time or two, and manage to destroy landscape plants, maybe a newly planted tree, and graze in my garden next summer. By then it will be very easy to say, 'See Ya! Off to The Spa with you!"
We eat beef once a week, alternating between chicken, pork, fish, bear, elk and venison. ALL home or locally raised. No history of colon cancer in either of our families.
Well, cats are obligate carnivores, so there’s that...
Deactivating telomerase seems like a fast track to rapid aging. Just because it works in a petri dish tumor doesn’t mean it will work in the human body without unwanted and potentially harmful side effects.
If you never eat red meat you won’t really live longer - it will just feel like it.
Bull... Maybe if you live to be 300 years old... That is what they don’t tell us about these studies. Potatoes are poisonous too if you eat a truckload in one sitting.
I guess I should thank all those responsible for inflation and all the other factors that have made beef expensive.
Over consumption of red meat is sadly not a problem for me. :`(
I suffered a kidney stone this past spring and I was very surprised to read that Spinach is something I should not eat!
I’m still gonna eat it, but less. A kidney stone is probably the worst pain this side of childbirth!
I like it raw in salads or in an omelette. We probably go through a 10oz. bag a week, or we eat up whatever I grow in the greenhouse in season.
Never would’ve occurred to me. Kale is supposed to be bad for your joints and water retention. I’m still gonna eat that, too! ;)
I call BS.
- there has been a war on meat for years
- the medical research industry has clearly been taken over by the WEF types for years who, coincidentally, are trying to abolish meat for the masses.
- is Bill Gates a vegetarian?
- when these scumbags are out to get you, paranoid is smart thinking
My father-in-law died at 53 of Colon cancer. He ate little meat (wasn’t against it, family was not well to do). Rode his bicycle everywhere, was a healthy weight, and had quit smoking years ago. But he was Dutch, and both sides of his family were riddled with it. The genes appear to be the primary factor.
Oh heck yes. I guess I will need to increase my red meat consumption. At 5 eggs per day I have already seen a huge difference in my blood numbers.
🙄
