An Iowa resident has died after contracting a frightening viral disease, similar to Ebola, that leaves victims bleeding from their eyeballs.
The patient had returned to the U.S. from West Africa earlier this month bringing the disease know as Lassa Fever, rarely seen in the U.S., back with them, health officials said.
The person was not sick while traveling meaning the risk to fellow airline passengers is 'extremely low,' officials with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

The patient’s identity is not disclosed, so they don’t know the sex.
This is a normal, long time use of the ‘singular they’ which was never a problem for anyone until the ‘pronoun nazis’ started to push their nonsense on us.
Solution, 100% mail in voting, suspension of the first and second amendments, open the borders, halting all oil and gas drilling, raise taxes, cut defense spending, imprison anyone who opposes these safety measures.

Sounds like a book. I read it years ago and learned about Marburg, Lassa, and Ebola. Scary diseases. The “good” news is they are so deadly that they burn out rather quickly.
In the last sixty years, I could find a record of just 6 cases in the US.
Deep State poses a far more clear and present danger to the American body politic than Lassa.
They need to fly them into D.C., put them in the Capitol building, lock and then seal the GD doors.

I have seen reports, of course not in the leftist media, about TB cases being reported in greater numbers. While TB has been largely eradicated in the US it is still prevalent in the third world and could easily be spread by the hoards of illegals pouring across our borders.
What’s wrong with “he or she”? Why should we give up the ability to distinguish plural from singular?
For that matter, why can’t the authorities acknowledge whether this individual is male or female? That’s not sensitive information that would help someone identify the person.

It’s been used for a very long time, long before all the ‘pronoun’ stuff. He or she is ‘clunkier’ in speech as well as in writing. (You probably used the singular they yourself in the past. Before the new pronoun business, nobody thought anything of it.
I don’t think it’s the habit of ‘authorities’ to release any information at all about someone’s medical issues.
(Generally in a case like this, people with whom the individual would have come into contact are alerted that they may have been at risk.)
