One of the truisms of Trump World is that being viewed as boring is a sin more deadly than being wrong.
On the campaign trail, former President Donald J. Trump often takes that to mean he must go off-script and veer off message. His critics say such detours are a troubling sign of his incoherence and raise questions about his age and cognitive health. Many of his supporters and allies see his circular way of speaking, which he calls “the weave,” as entertaining and not alarming. The partisan debate over the implications of Mr. Trump’s meandering speech has only intensified in the final stage of the race.
Here are four examples of Mr. Trump’s rambling from just this past week.
Schoolchildren asked him about boyhood heroes. He ended up at the border wall.
It was a softball question, from a 10-year-old. Mr. Trump’s response was more of a knuckleball.
A group of children asked Mr. Trump questions on Friday on “Fox & Friends.” Asked to name his favorite president when he was a child, Mr. Trump at first cited one who was elected when he was 34 (Ronald Reagan). Then he ventured onto surprising terrain, including every child’s favorite subject, the revised NAFTA trade deal known as the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
DANIEL: President Trump, I’m Daniel. And I’m 10. And I’m from Tennessee. What was your favorite president when you were little?
DONALD TRUMP: So I liked Ronald Reagan. I thought he was, um, look — I did not love his trade policy. I’m a very good trade — I have made some great trade deals for us — the U.S.M.C.A. That wasn’t his strength, but he had a great dignity about him, Ronald Reagan. You could say, “There’s our president,” more than any of the others. Really, any...

E. Pluribus Unum - Sun Tzu would say “know thine enemy” (in Mandarin of course). I appreciate your NYT posts because it gives us the opportunity to put them in perspective (the toilet). Trump’s response to the question “who was your favorite President when you were little” gives him limited options, I don’t think Eisenhower would be a good answer, nor Kennedy (a Dem), Johnson (Dem and ashamed to run for a second term) Nixon (impeached), Ford (a dufus), nor would Carter (failure and a Dem) have been a good answer. Those are the only presidents to choose from (Truman? Trump was 4 years old when Truman left office). Trump was 12 when Eisenhower left office. So the best answer is Reagan. At 12 no kid is sitting around admiring various Presidents. Trump gave the best possible answer, which is usually the case. And this is the argument made by the always-wrong and condescending NY Times. See how smart they are? They are a bunch of cretins who wasted a lot of money on education but “you can’t fix stupid”.
There seems to be alot of NYT propaganda being posted here lately.
I think the NY Times might be hitting Trump this hard because they fear NY and/or NJ might even be in play.
NY? Never. They've been voting Rat in presidential elections since before 2000. NJ? Unlikely. It's also a safe Rat state. More likely they're worried Trump is picking up votes in Arizona, Georgia, and even Nevada.
So NYT has gone total TDS. I know they have been, but this time they have turned it up a bit.
I am with you and would crawl over broken glass to get to the polls.
Let’s blow them out so they can’t win by cheating.
