Oregon elections office to restart phone lines after surge of calls about Trump missing from voters’ pamphlet

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The Oregon Elections Division is resuming phone operations shortly after shutting down all calls due to an overwhelming surge of out-of-state callers complaining that Donald Trump is not in the Oregon Voters’ Pamphlet.

On Thursday, the elections office told KOIN 6 News the callers had been responding to false information about why the former president did not appear in the pamphlet, including social media rumors making election interference claims.

However, the Oregon Secretary of State’s office said the decision for Trump’s omission was actually made by his own campaign when it did not submit a statement or pay the required $3,500 to appear in the pamphlet.

“The Trump campaign chose not to participate. It was not an omission by officials. Trump/Vance will still be on your ballot,” the Oregon Secretary of State’s office wrote in a post on social media last week.

I would assume this is true. I have a distinct prejudice against the Republican Party in general and Oregon in particular for pursuing every opportunity to lose. Last time in Oregon the party ran two candidates for governor and in my city of Redmond two for mayor.

I swear...in past years if a candidate did not file the papers and funds the Voter Pamphlet at least had their name and the statement “Candidate did not file statement.” But this year there are just blank spots.

Any time a Trump supporter has a beef, it’s due to “false information”. “Misinformation”, “false information” and “disinformation” are the new buzzwords the left uses to shot down criticism of anything the do. And I mean EVERY time. How can so many people not see how the corrupt media colludes to manipulate them? We are a country half-full of absolute morons.

Trump was only running behind by 5% here in Oregon. That was on july 30. He’s probably in a dead heat with Kamala here now. Demoncrats are using every manner of skulduggery to keep Trump from winning.

I am wondering that if Trump wins, what are the chances of Harris ever certifying the election in the Senate? Wouldn’t she say she can’t certify it until all the lawsuits are settled?

Trump is on the ballots, that’s all that matters. I’ve already filled out 10 of them.

That’s the cool thing about Universal Mail-In Voting. Where my daughter lives, she gets an extra 4 ballots at her apartment (likely prior tenants). She tells me that she’s tempted to fill them out and mail them, but I warned her that it’s a felony. Hopefully she listens!

Why should he spend money for something as worthless as a voters guide. If you do not know who Trump is you probably are not voting anyway.

It’s a felony if you sign the envelope, which I don’t do.

I probably could, because I have a list of signatures that I acquired registering first time voters in case they skipped town.

But it’s a “bridge too far” and not worth the risk.
