Counting Down my iTunes Play Count (VANITY) -- Day #37
AC’s iTunes Directory | 10/18/2024 | Alberta's Child

Posted on 10/18/2024 9:52:17 AM PDT by Alberta's Child

Day #37 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've been posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the course of several months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so we are getting down to the last few weeks here.

And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, I'll be making contributions for both the 3rd and 4th quarter fundraisers. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)

Have fun with this, folks!

Pinging to those from the previous threads. Forget "Freebird" ... this is the definitive Lynyrd Skynyrd work in my book. An iconic southern rock classic from one of the bands that spawned this genre.

"Now I feel the wind blow, outside my door ... means I'm leaving my woman at home."

Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list!

Wow, one of my favorite Skynyrd songs. I saw them five times including their next to last concert at Lakeland Civic Center on Oct 18, 1977 (no Tuesday's Gone that time). They played in South Carolina on Oct 19 and the plane crash was after that concert in the early morning of Oct 20.

This is the play list from that concert:

1. What's Your Name

2. I Ain't the One

3. You Got That Right

4. Whiskey Rock-a-Roller

5. That Smell

6. I Know a Little

7. Ain't No Good Life

8. Travelin' Man

9. Gimme Three Steps

10. Call Me the Breeze

(J.J. Cale cover)

11. Sweet Home Alabama

12. Blue Yodel No. 1 (T for Texas)

(Jimmie Rodgers cover)

13. Free Bird

Absolutely beautiful and melancholy song. Great choice!
I always thought LS & Neil Young hated each other, but according to an article I read years ago they were actually quite friendly with each other.

Great playlist for a concert … but no “Tuesday’s Gone!”

Yes. But I did not know at the time that I would not see them ever again.
