Counting Down my iTunes Play Count (VANITY) -- Day #34
AC’s iTunes Directory | 10/15/2024 | Alberta's Child

Posted on 10/15/2024 8:51:19 AM PDT by Alberta's Child

Day #34 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've been posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the course of several months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so this will probably be done in early November.

And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, I'll be making contributions for both the 3rd and 4th quarter fundraisers. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)

Have fun with this, folks!

Great song, great choice. I always tell my husband they were the saddest boys in rock and roll. I so look forward to your thread.

Pinging to those from the previous threads. Not much of a Pink Floyd fan, so this one from 1994 is a bit of an outlier. I'm sure I know how it ended up getting played so frequently. A friend of mine who is a big Pink Floyd fan bought this cassette while we were on a long road trip to the Midwest back in 1994, so I was forced to listen to it repeatedly over the course of a week on the road. Now, it is a must-play every time we drive anywhere together -- even 30 years later!

"Now I have seen the warnings, screaming from all sides. It's easy to ignore them; God knows I've tried."

Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list!

My favorite Pink Floyd tune is “See Emily Play,” which got some airplay in the late summer of 1967, but it failed to make the Billboard Hot 100.

That’s a very old “early 1960s” sound for Pink Floyd. If I had heard that sound and didn’t know who it was, I never would have guessed it was Pink Floyd ... maybe the Moody Blues or something.
